“How do I tell them I’m Muslim?”
“How do I tell my family?”
“How will my friends react?”
“Will I lose people I love?”
One revert described sitting in her car for nearly an hour before telling her parents she had accepted Islam.
“I kept rehearsing the words,” she said. “I was more afraid of their silence than their anger.”
Another shared, “I was scared they would disown me.”
One sister waited weeks before telling her friends, unsure if she would lose the people closest to her.
For many reverts, the joy of finding Islam is immediately followed by a second journey: how to tell the people they love.
And sometimes, they go through it without guidance, without support, and without anyone to process it with afterwards.
At IAP Women, we provide a safe space for these conversations, so revert sisters do not have to carry them alone. Your support provides reassurance, guidance, and someone to walk beside them through some of the most emotionally difficult moments of their journey.
Support IAP this Dhul Hijja and help revert sisters navigate these vulnerable conversations with care, compassion, and community: launchgood.com/iapdhulhijja
