How much of the floor underneath the carpet and floorboards is tiled and in what condition are the tiles in?
Where exactly is the baptismal pool?
Why are there steps up to the organ?

Our architects need to answer all these questions and more about the floor to be able to plan the conservation work and improvements to heating and wiring etc.

To that end, the church will be closed this week commencing 17th August to enable the architects to do some floor investigation works. They will be opening the floor in certain areas to better understand the existing floor structure, construction build-ups, the current condition of the building fabric including the floor tiles, and the location of the baptismal pool. All openings and disturbed areas will be carefully reinstated following completion of the investigations with like for like materials and will be redecorated.

These investigation works are really important so thank you very much for your patience while the church is closed.

We welcome you back for our 10:30am service on Sunday 23rd August.

We had a great time at our recent health & wellbeing day, a chance to take some time out, explore our beautiful church, learn about the heritage. Also an opportunity for the local community to get a health check with the Camden Health team and to simply slow down. Concluding with a fun and collaborative collage.
