A Meditation Taster for Young Adults – Shrewsbury
📅 Saturday 28th March 2026
🕚 11:00am – 3:00pm
📍 The Cut Conference Centre, Abbeygate Hall, 193 Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury, SY2 6AH
In times of uncertainty and in what can feel like a fractured world, many people are searching for a deeper sense of peace, clarity, and connection. This day offers a chance to step back, slow down, and explore a contemplative path rooted in silence and stillness - one that brings light, healing, and hope not only for ourselves, but for the world around us.
Join us for a relaxed and welcoming Meditation Taster Day for young adults, where you will be gently introduced to meditation in the tradition of the Desert Fathers and the teachings of John Main OSB. Whether you are completely new or simply curious, this is a space to explore, reflect, and connect with others.
What to expect:
✨ Guided meditation sessions (with music and chanting)
✨ Talks and discussions on the benefits of meditation and wellbeing
✨ Interactive group sessions and shared reflections
✨ Creative and reflective activities including poetry and mindful practices
✨ Quiet “silent space” with options like Qigong, colouring, and gentle movement
✨ Time to meet like-minded people and explore your own practice
Throughout the day, we will explore questions like why meditate? and how a regular practice can support mental clarity, emotional balance, and resilience in everyday life.
There will also be time to relax, enjoy lunch together, and, if you are new to the area, take in the beauty of historic Shrewsbury.
🥗 Lunch and refreshments are provided
💷 £5 contribution for the day
Whether you’re seeking calm, connection, or simply something different, this day is a chance to pause and reconnect, with yourself and others.
