Now that Nissan has arrived, spring is in the air, the sun is shining and nature is awakening.

Nissan is the time when the natural world comes to life, and in parallel the Jewish people were born as a nation.

At this busy time of year, this Berachah reminds us to focus on the beauty of the natural world and the flow of the seasons.

So take a few moments, take a deep breath, appreciate the beautiful world of nature within which we live, and say the Berachah on Ilanot, on fruit trees in blossom!
