⛪✨ Trinity Sunday at St Mary’s , Rotherhithe✨⛪

On this Feast of the Most Holy Trinity, Fr Michael Hazelton reflected on the great mystery at the heart of the Christian faith: not three gods, but one God in three Persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; Three-in-One and One-in-Threefold

As he reminded us, human beings have always been tempted to create gods in their own image. The Christian proclamation turns that instinct on its head: it is God who has made us in His image and who invites us into His divine life 🌟

After Mass, we gathered for cake, coffee and Tea, and fellowship to celebrate George’s birthday before the PCC meeting🎂☕🎉

A joyful morning of worship, conversation, and thanksgiving at St Mary’s

“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” (2 Corinthians 13:

For the first time in many months I was able to celebrate with a lovely family the baptism of a delightful little girl, a child of God and an inheritor with us of the Kingdom of Heaven. May God bless her and all her family

The party was held at the Mayflower, and the food and hospitality were excellent and I was moved by the speech of the child's father, who expressed, often in tears, the joys of what his child and family life mean to him. I felt truly honoured to be part of their celebration in church and pub. For me an affirmation of what priestly ministry is all about in advance of Trinity Sunday, on which great feast I was ordained in Liverpool Cathedral on 10th June 1990. Te Deum Laudamus and Deo Gratias for we can all give thanks to God that we have been we have been baptised in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

“Let all things be done decently and in order.” (1 Corinthians 14:40) ✨

Judging by today’s efforts, the crypt is now considerably closer to that apostolic ideal! ⛪🔩🏆

Fr Michael Hazelton - a long term dog daddy, currently of Bronson, the friendliest of Rottweilers, is keen along with me to celebrate St Francis and his friendship with God’s creatures, all creatures great and small, and to quote S Francis 'All creatures of our God and King' by celebrating St Francis Day with a service of prayer, thanksgiving and blessing at 12 noon on Sunday 4th October, hopefully sponsored by Trill, Whiskas and Pedigree Chum!

⛪🔥 Feast of Pentecost at St Mary’s 🔥⛪

Last Sunday we celebrated the Feast of Pentecost and were delighted to welcome Joel Chia of Grace Church, Canada Water, as our guest preacher.

With readings proclaimed in English, Arabic and Twi, prayers offered in Ukrainian, French, Spanish, Italian, Ikwerre, and Creole, the Aaronic Blessing sung in Hebrew, and the Easter Dismissal given in Latin, our worship beautifully reflected the message of Pentecost itself: people of many nations and tongues gathered into one Church through the power of the Holy Spirit🕊️🌍

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the day such a joyful and prayerful celebration.

“Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit.” (1 Corinthians 12:4) 🔥🕊️

🎵 Feast of Pentecost at St Mary’s 🎵

Our celebration was enriched by a wonderful offering of music from Lucas on the Scottish bagpipes, Camille on violin, Raphael on cello, Sam at the organ, Stephen our cantor and Robin singing from the gallery above🎻🎶🎹

Together they helped lead our worship and praise on this great feast of the Church, offering their gifts in service of God and the parish community 🕊️🔥
