Walthamstow Central Baptist Church

Come and join us as we worship God and hear from the Bible! We meet every Sunday at 11am and 6.30pm, and everyone is welcome!

We are an ethnically diverse and friendly congregation in a culturally varied area of North East London. Our desire is to see men and women, boys and girls become Christians and grow as obedient disciples of Jesus Christ. As a Bible centred church with a moderately reformed tradition we are a member of the FIEC. We regularly see visitors and will be glad to welcome you too.

Join us on Sunday 21st December, 5.30pm, for our Carols by Candlelight Service. With traditional carols, Bible readings and a Christmas message, followed by seasonal refreshments - everyone's welcome! Creche for small children available.

Please join us on Saturday 21st June, from 1-4pm, for our summer-fayre-style event. We use the lawn and car park at the back of the church, as well as our hall, for a bouncy castle, craft, games, face painting, treasure hunt, snacks and more! With a seaside theme, and an all-age Bible talk on treasure, there’s plenty going on for every age! It’s all free. If it rains, we’ll be inside.

Join us on Saturday 22nd February (first round at 6.45pm) for our Quiz Night! This is a light hearted evening with loads of general knowledge questions on various themes, including picture rounds. It’s suitable for all adults and older children too. There will be snacks on the tables, tea, coffee and cold drinks too. There are small prizes for the winning teams! We’ll have a brief Bible talk between two of the rounds to keep us thinking about the big questions of life.

Come with a whole team if you like! Or come on your own or with a friend … most people just join a team when they arrive. Everyone is very welcome!

Everyone is welcome at our Family Fireworks Night on Friday 1st November, 5.00 - 8.30pm! We have a small fireworks display, sparklers for children (bring gloves!), an indoor bouncay castle, games, some toddler toys, an all-age Bible talk and food! There'll be burgers, sausages, vegan and vegetarian options, tea and coffee. It's all free, but it's a ticketed event as numbers are limited. Get your tickets by emailing us at [email protected].

Join us in th back hall at Central Baptist Church for our fundraising event for Macmillan Cancer Support on Saturday 28th September 10.30am – 1.00pm. Homemade Cakes and jams for sale, all proceeds directly to the charity. Take our Cake Quiz and there will be a few games for children! ALL are welcome!

Join us on Saturday 29th June, 1-4pm, for our Family Fun Day!
Everything's free, and there's lots going on ... a bouncy castle, crafts, mini-sports, refreshments (inc cakes and sandwiches and more), face painting, games and an all-age Bible talk too.
We'll be on the driveway and the lawn to the right of the church, assuming the weather is good (in the hall if it rains!). Everyone is welcome!
We also have a collection point for the Eat of Heat foodbank ... why not bring along a donation of non-perishable food or toiletries?

Please join us this Christmas!
CAROLS BY CANDLELIGHT : Sunday 24th December at 5.30pm ... everyone is welcome as we sing traditional Christmas Carols, hear readings from the Bible about the first Christmas and hear a message explaining something of the meaning of Christmas. The church will be lit by candles and fairy lights! Afterwards, please stay for teas, coffee, mulled punch, mince pies and small cakes! Including a creche for small children. CHRISTMAS DAY SERVICE : Monday 25th December at 10.30am ... please join us to worship the Saviour! With Christmas songs, children's talks and a shorter Bible message, it's great for all the family. It will last less than an hour. Including a collection for the Barnabas Fund. Streamed online on YouTube.
We also have our regular Sunday morning service on the 24th December at 11.00am (with carols!!)

Everyone's welcome at our Family Firework Night on Friday 3rd November, 5.30-8.00pm. There will be an all-age Bible talk, games, toddler toys, a bouncy castle, food, a Wii room ... plus a short fireworks display and sparklers for any children who'd like one! It's free, but we limit numbers for safety reaons, so you will need a ticket ... available at any church event, or by emailing us at [email protected]

Everyone is welcome at our celebrations for the Coronation of King Charles III ...
On SUNDAY 7th MAY at 11.00am, we have a celebration service, with songs of praise, prayers for the King, Bible readings, and a message on what the Bible says about Kingship.
On MONDAY 8th MAY from 1-4 pm, we have a celebration party, with bouncay castle, face painting, crafts, cream teas, cakes and more! It's an event for the whole family. IF IT RAINS, it'll still be on, inside our hall (use the entrance towards the back, down the driveway to the right of the building). IF THE WEATHER IS GOOD, we'll be outside on the grass and car park area to the rear of the building, round to the right. There is a free souvenir booklet for everybody.
We are supporting the work of our local food bank, EAT OR HEAT. Why not bring a donation on the day? Tinned or packet food, washing powder/tablets, toiletries or pet food are all welcome. The collection point will be open on the Monday from 1-4pm. Thank you!

Join us for our quiz night on Saturday 11th February from 6.45pm! Come on your own, or with friends : there’ll be plenty of teams to join! It’s a free event, and we provide the questions, the nibbles and drinks, and the prizes !! There’s also a short Bible talk, “God Questions”. Whether you are a quiz expert or a beginner, we hope you’ll join us!

Everyone is welcome to join us this Sunday (18th December) for our Carols by Candlelight service at the church! With lots of carols, Bible readings and a Christmas message, come and enjoy the church decorated and lit by candles and Christmas lights, as we worship the Saviour, Jesus! A creche for small children will be available. After the service, there will be mince pies and chocolate mini-rolls.
