This Sunday at Streatham Baptist Church, we shared in a powerful intergenerational communion.
Together, we came forward and placed one hand in red paint — a visual reminder of our sin — then pressed it onto the cross, remembering that Jesus bore our sin in his body on the cross.
Afterwards, each hand was gently washed clean — a beautiful sign that through Jesus, our sin is washed away and we are made new.
From there, we took the bread and the cup back to our seats, gathering in small prayer huddles across the room to share communion together — young and old, side by side, remembering Christ and praying as one church family.
A simple, moving act of confession, grace, and communion.
