Giving thanks for the CHBC building project
For the glory of God, today and in the future
After rebuilding the City of Jerusalem, Nehemiah and Ezra the Priest led people back into a relationship with God. Nehemiah returned to Susa where he was serving the King. Several years later he returned to Jerusalem only to find that people no longer worshipped God and the Temple had been turned for other uses.
We thank God that since the CHBC was built more than 100 years ago, the church has maintained a Witness for Christ across generations to this day.
We ought to maintain the site, so it continues to be a place of worship and leading others to Christ. We are to serve in studying and teaching the Word of God, praying, and seeking God together as the body of Christ and to contribute our time, skills, and money towards the life of the Church. Let us pray that we will allow the Holy Spirit to work in our Church by seeking and surrendering daily to God, being alert to the Holy Spirit. Let us pray that the building will not be used for anything that conforms to the patterns of this sinful world.
God as we seek and trust you to redevelop the CHBC site, we pray that the new building will be used for your glory and honour until the day of Christ's second coming.
