"Favourite scripture: Ether 12:4
Whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast.
I love this reminder, that I can find peace and hope through Christ and his gospel.
I have lived here for over 20 years. My job in the States transferred me here in September 2005. I have been all around London, and have many spots I love. Lately my favourite spots are the quiet places in and around Barnes. I love our local nature reserve, and the woods in Wimbledon Common. I enjoy living along some natural banks of the Thames -- its beauty changes throughout the day as the tide comes in and goes out, as the angle of the sun changes its shade, and as changing winds either give it texture or leave it glassy. It always delights me when I leave the City and return back to my home.
My two main hobbies are reading and running. Two books I often recommend to friends (because they have had a profound impact on me) are: (1) the Enchiridion, and (2) Born to Run. London is a great place to be a runner -- there are many good trails in our parks, along rivers and canals, and in wild spaces like our commons and the Epping Forest. A running highlight for me was completing the Capital Ring in record time (16 hours) in July 2019. I'm always happy to have a running partner or to share book tips and reflections on what I'm currently reading, so get in touch if either interest you."
