AGONIZING CHOICES

I've been hearing of more people lately who have literally had life-or-death decisions to make...decisions that keep them awake night after night.

One man had to decide whether the hospital should "pull the plug" on his terminally ill father...a couple had to decide what to do about their child, born deformed...a doctor had to decide whether to let a young patient become part of an experimental program to research a cure for a debilitating disease...a mother had to decide whether to bail her son out of jail "one more time" or let him "learn a lesson." What is so distressing about these types of choices is that there are no "right" or "wrong" answers.

But be encouraged tonight. The Lord's thoughts, concerning any agonizing choice you may have to make, are at your disposal. Paul not only assures us that we have the mind of Christ, he also tells us that, "The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except a man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. We have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God that we may understand..." (1 Corinthians 2:10-12, NIV).

If you have an agonizing choice to make, I beg you to stop struggling to find the answer with your carnal mind. Surrender to the Spirit of God instead. Wait on Him for His mind on the matter and His understanding, but be prepared...His answer may surprise you. But, rest assured, with His answer will come sweet dreams.

Don’t Look Back, Rather Give Thanks –‘Femi Adebajo
Text: Exodus 14:11-14(NLT)

As you read this passage you might be wondering that is it not foolish for the children of Israel to prefer going back to Egypt and remain under slavery than to get their freedom. I tell you brethren most of us at one time or the other in our Christian race had thought likewise.
There are cases of people who after giving their lives to Christ things changed drastically for the downturn and they begin to wonder whether it is not better to go back to the world. While in the world there are several things you can do (like cheating, adultery, falsifying records etc) which are illegal and contrary to the word of God that can help you to amass wealth and be part of Jones of the society. Now having given your life to Christ you can no longer do them and as a result your businesses and finances are in crisis. At occasions like this you begin to wonder if serving this God is worth it after all.
However, just like Moses told the children of Israel “don’t be afraid” I am telling you that the challenges you are going through is for a short time. The Lord Himself will sort you out at His own time in name of Jesus.
We must bear in mind gold is not picked on the surface of earth, it has to be dug out and thereafter refined by passing it through fire. Our afflictions are for us to develop the attitude of relying on God for our daily sustenance. We must bear in mind that the benefits behind the afflictions far outweighs its pains as we read in 2 Cor. 4:16-18 which says “That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are quite small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us an immeasurably great glory that will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see right now; rather, we look forward to what we have not yet seen. For the troubles we see will soon be over, but the joys to come will last forever”
The word of the Lord will never fall to the ground so let us believe that our tomorrow will be better than our today (or yesterday), so there is no need for us to start regretting serving Him and or admiring all those evil things we use to do. I leave you with the word of Lord as found in Philippians 3:7-8 Therefore do not look back no matter what, rather give thanks to the Lord.

How to get the best out of your team–‘FEMI ADEBAJO

1. Show genuine love and concern to members of your team, avoid using people to achieve your personal ambition. People will most likely believe in you if they know you genuinely care about them.

2. Teach your team to pray, pray with them and pray for them always.

3. Share your God given vision with the team, write it down and continually refer to it. Let the people see the passion in you. No one will share a vision you are not passionate about.

4. Make your team feel special, don’t talk down to people. Respect is reciprocal and it is earned over time.

5. Accept your mistakes, do not try to rationalise or justify your failings. Be honest to yourself and others.

6. Create occasions to remember the good works of the team and reward hard work and commitments.

7.Teach the team, always ready to share your knowledge with the team. Do not develop fear that if they know you will become irrelevant.

8. Delegate responsibilities and follow through. Provide helping hands when necessary without having to micromanage.

FIND THAT SPECIAL PLACE

God’s special place for you is where you are most content and fulfilled, experiencing prosperity in your health, your emotions, your relationships, and your finances. A good example of this is found in 1 Kings 17:3, where God told the prophet Elijah, “Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan. You will drink from the brook, and I have ordered the ravens to feed you there.” Elijah obeyed God and went, and the ravens fed him. If Elijah had decided not to obey God and do things his own way instead, he would not have been in a place to receive God’s blessings. You are blessed when you are fully convinced that God wants to meet all of your needs, and you decide to follow His leading.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Lord, I want to thank You for giving me a place where I can be fulfilled and blessed as I serve You. Give me the wisdom and patience to know where to go to find this special place of Your blessing. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
