Friends of the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham

Friends of the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham The Friends of the Ordinariate was established to help raise financial support for the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham.

The Friends of the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham was established in 2011 to assist with the work of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham in England and Wales through both practical and financial support. It also exists in order to raise awareness of the Ordinariate’s life and mission within the wider Catholic community. The Friends is a separate charity from the Ordinariate,

with its own trustees. We work closely with the Ordinary, Monsignor Keith Newton, to identify areas where the Friends can be of assistance. Monsignor Newton is also the President of the Friends. The Friends of the Ordinariate charity gratefully receives donations from individuals and organisations who share in the Holy See’s vision of Christian Unity, which has been made manifest in the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham. A number of distinguished individuals have offered to serve as Honorary Vice-Presidents:

Rt Rev Dom David Charlesworth, Abbot of Buckfast,
Rt Rev Abbot Hugh Allan O.Praem,
Lord Deben

In your charity please pray for the repose of the soul of Fr George Grynowski - priest of the Archdiocese of Birmingham - who sadly died on Monday morning, 27th June, aged 73.

Fr George was ordained on 8th July 2006 and his first appointment was at St Dunstan’s, Kings Heath where he served from 2006 to 2008. His next appointment was at St John Fisher in West Heath from 2008 to 2014. From there, Fr George was appointed as Assistant to the Judicial Vicar, a role he held until his retirement.

Since his retirement, Fr George has been assisting in the parishes of the St John Henry Newman Cluster and what a blessing he has been to us all!

He will be greatly missed by all who have got to know him over the last few years.

We pray for Fr George’s family, friends, his former parishioners and all who mourn him. May he rest in peace.

Details of Fr George’s funeral will be circulated as soon as they are known.
