Today is a bittersweet day in Global Missions as we celebrate and honor someone who has given so much of her life to serving the Kingdom.

For 33 years, she has faithfully served at our International Offices, and for 14 of those years, she has given her heart to Global Missions. Fourteen years of answering questions, solving problems, carrying burdens, celebrating victories, building relationships, and most importantly loving people.

If you have been part of Global Missions for any length of time, chances are you have felt her impact. She has been the person behind the scenes making sure things were taken care of, the voice of encouragement when someone needed it, the steady presence through seasons of change, and the one who cared deeply about the people represented by every nation, every missionary, every church, and every donor.

But her greatest legacy cannot be measured in years or accomplishments. It is found in people. In the relationships she has built. In the lives she has encouraged. In the countless people around the world who have been reminded, through her kindness and care, that they matter.

We know that today is not easy. It is hard to say goodbye to a role that has been such a meaningful part of your life. But we also know that the seeds you have planted, the relationships you have nurtured, and the love you have poured into Global Missions will continue to bear fruit for years to come.

Today, we don't simply say goodbye. We say thank you.

Thank you for 33 years of faithful service.
Thank you for 14 beautiful years with Global Missions.
Thank you for loving the nations.
Thank you for loving people.

And thank you for giving so much of yourself to the work God placed in your hands.
Your chapter as Global Missions Coordinator may be coming to a close, but your legacy will remain.

We love you, we honor you, and we pray that this next season brings you every joy and blessing you so richly deserve.

With grateful hearts,
Global Missions Ministries

Statement from the International Offices and Presiding Bishop Tim Coalter

The International Offices of the Church of God of Prophecy, together with Presiding Bishop Tim Coalter, announce with deep sadness the passing of Bishop Adrian L. Varlack, Sr. We extend our heartfelt prayers and sympathy to the Varlack family and to the countless friends, colleagues, and spiritual sons and daughters around the world who were blessed by his remarkable life and ministry.

Bishop Varlack was a powerful, anointed preacher and one of the great statesmen of the Church of God of Prophecy. Larger than life in both presence and influence, he combined extraordinary wisdom with a keen historical mind and genuine kindness. He was beloved throughout our global fellowship and internationally respected not only within the Church of God of Prophecy but also among leaders of other organizations. His counsel was sought across denominational lines because of his integrity and scholarship.

For decades, Bishop Varlack faithfully served the Church in a variety of significant leadership roles: as Church Historian and Consultant to the General Overseer, Center for Biblical Leadership Instructor, Director of World Missions, a member and chairman of numerous Assembly committees, and in various advisory capacities that shaped the life and direction of the global Church. During pivotal moments in the Church's history, he was repeatedly entrusted with responsibilities requiring wisdom, discernment, and the confidence of the International Assembly and the International Presbytery.

As a global family, we celebrate a life marked by faithful service, scholarly excellence, spiritual wisdom, and steadfast devotion to the kingdom of God. While we mourn his passing, we rejoice in the assurance that he has now entered the joyous presence of the Savior whom he served so faithfully.

Please join the International Offices and the Office of the Presiding Bishop in praying for the Varlack family during this season of grief. May they know the abiding comfort and peace of the Holy Spirit, and may the Lord continue to honor the enduring legacy of Bishop Adrian L. Varlack, Sr., whose life has left an indelible mark on the Church of God of Prophecy and on the kingdom of God around the world.

As arrangements for a celebration of his life are made, details will be shared.

This morning, the family of Bishop Adrian L. Varlack, Sr., announced the following which we share on their behalf:

"We are grateful for every prayer, text and phone call we have received over the last few weeks as Dad has dealt with serious health issues. It is with profound personal sadness yet overwhelming joy that we share that he is now in glory with the One who formed him, loved him and carried him for 81 years.

Our Mother, his wife of more than 60 years, has been so moved by the outpouring of love from around the world. Thank you for caring for our Dad and for loving him as we love him. Please allow us time to grieve as a family. We will share funeral arrangements in the coming days. Thank you again for all of the love and support. We appreciate and desire your continued prayers.

If you would like to share condolences or fond memories, please email them to: [email protected]."

We unite with the global Church of God of Prophecy family in giving thanks for the remarkable life and ministry of Bishop Adrian L. Varlack, Sr. A native of the British Virgin Islands, Bishop Varlack faithfully served the Church for more than five decades in a variety of leadership roles, including missionary, pastor, international administrator, educator, Church Historian, and Consultant to the General Overseer. His influence extended around the world through his teaching, writing, leadership, and commitment to preserving the history and testimony of the Church of God of Prophecy.

Please join us in praying for his beloved wife, Janice, their children, grandchildren, and the entire Varlack family. Those who knew Bishop Varlack know how deeply he loved his family and how often he spoke of them with great joy and pride. May the God of all comfort surround them with His peace and strength in the days ahead.
