Sunday Story: Next Generation Church Music Intern

Thanks to a generous gift from an AIC family, we have hired an intern this summer to work with Scott, strengthen our summer music programme, bring new ideas and perspectives to our music ministry, and help AIC support the future of church music. Meet Erin Bradley, who began this past week and you might have spotted this morning playing clarinet!

Hi! My name is Erin Bradley and I am a jazz vocalist and clarinetist. I have just graduated with a masters from the Guildhall School Of Music and Drama. My musical journey began when I was singing music in churches at a very young age. This inspired me to learn the clarinet at age seven. From that time on, music has always been a very important part of my life.

I am really looking forward to being a music intern at this wonderful church and being part of this lovely community. Throughout the months, I will be assisting Scott Stroman in the choir. I will also be organising and arranging some music for you all! I am very inspired by jazz, but also have a passion for gospel and church music, so I hope to blend those styles together! I also really enjoy improvisation, so hope to bring an element of that to our performances. Some of my musical inspirations are Chet Baker, Sarah Vaughan and Wayne Shorter.

I look forward to meeting you all!

Sunday Story: AICEME

AIC is a founding member of the Association of International Churches in Europe and the Middle East. The organisation emerged from the pastors seeking out colleagues in other congregations founded primarily by Americans to serve English-speaking international communities. The group has gathered for an annual pastors and spouses conference since 1967. In 2025, AIC hosted the group in London.

This year, Pastors Jennifer and Jared went to The Hague, hosted by the American Protestant Church of the Hague, another founding congregation. The group had space to worship, learn about each others’ ministries in formal and informal ways, to share wisdom and support one another in our challenges in this unique kind of ministry. The group also learned about the history of Protestantism in the Netherlands, visiting the home of Corrie Ten Boom, the site of the Synod of Dordrecht, and more.

Jennifer and Jared find AICEME as a key community and resource for ideas. Throughout the year, we reach out to fellow pastors to consult, and visit one another when we are in other cities. There is an annual AICEME Youth Conference in the autumn, and we would love to support our young people to attend as well!
