Sun 14 Jun | 10am-5pm | Join Lottie and Anantavira for a day delving into the 'Dhaniya Sutta'- an existential encounter between the Buddha and a herdsman (Dhaniya).
A chance to spend a day with others aged 18 - 35 going deeper into meditation, discussing and reflecting on the Buddha's teaching and building friendships.

A fantastic group of women from the North London Buddhist Centre recently travelled to Ware to complete a working retreat at the brand-new Tiratnaloka Retreat Centre.

Why is this new space so special? As the Triratna community grows, so does the number of women training for ordination. The new premises in Ware were recently bought to expand capacity, ensuring that these retreats don't get fully booked too quickly and that more retreatants can be welcomed. It takes a village (and a Sangha!) to get a new centre ready, and our North London team brought so much energy, love, and inspiration to the task.

What does your mind do when you lose your comfort, you’re tired, or it starts to rain? 🌧️🏔️

We’re currently on Day 5 of walking the West Highland Way (with Sthiramanas over there applying suncream!), and being out on the trail is the perfect reminder of how our minds actually work.

That’s exactly what we’re exploring in our upcoming 6-week course starting Wed 10 Jun. Practising Buddhist ethics hasn’t been about rules or being perfect. It’s been a way to work with our minds, find beauty in the everyday, and look for the good in life.

Two weeks ago, we celebrated Buddha Day - marking his enlightenment and the potential for awakening within us all. ✨

It was wonderful to see so many of us joining together to meditate, learn about the Buddha’s life, and participate in a collective ritual. We also enjoyed plenty of spacious breaks throughout the day to connect over tea and a delicious shared meal. 🍲🫖

Earlier this month, around 20 fantastic volunteers from our Sangha came together for a special work day at the North London Buddhist Centre. From building IKEA chairs 🛠️ to giving our building a thorough spring clean 🧹, the energy was buzzing with enthusiasm, fun and harmony.

There is a unique kind of joy that comes from putting our values into action and taking care for the place that means so much to us 🙏❤️

We wrapped up the day with a group meditation 🧘‍♂️ and a delicious shared lunch 🍲.

A big heartfelt thank you to everyone who showed up, rolled up their sleeves, and brought their beautiful energy. Our centre is shining because of you! ✨
