Holy Trinity Church Roehampton

Thirty of us came together yesterday, watched a video on "Who was Jesus?" and then enjoyed a fine lunch with conversation. That's what Alpha is. If you'd like to join us next week, it's not too late - just sign up here so we have enough food https://www.holytrinityroehampton.org/other-activities/alpha-course-autumn-2026/ Next week's topic is: Why did Jesus Die? No question too clever, silly or heretical ....

Alpha is starting this Sunday 18 October. There will be a short film at 11.45am, followed by tasty, hot lunch and a chance to discuss/ask questions/make observations on what you've seen. Lots of fun and lots of people already coming. To find out more and sign up (important for catering), take a look

Other Activities This Autumn we’re running the Alpha Course at HTR – a chance to talk about the things that really matter. Eight Sundays starting on 18th October. Gather after church, 11.45, for a half hour video on an aspect of the Christian Faith. Then there’s a lunch and a chance to talk ab...

Brilliant Harvest lunch today with some delicious international food and amazing clothes. And a bumper donation for the Roehampton food bank.

01/10/2026

Sunday October 4th is when we celebrate Harvest. This year we're having an international shared lunch. So please bring some food that's typical of your country of birth, and so much the better if you can dress in national dress (or the colours of your flag, if full national dress is a bridge too far).

Please also bring donations of non-perishable food or toiletries to support the Roehampton Food bank. It all kicks off straight after the 10am service, with lunch at noon.

It's Tuesday, so it must be SPARKLE.

Sparkle runs from 10.30-2.30pm every week. Local older members (‘Grandfriends’) spend the day dipping into intergenerational sessions with local children. The activities can include reading, singing, craft, gardening and games. There is also a nutritious warm lunch for the adults.

Any older person can come along. There is no charge and members can come regularly or occasionally; for the full session or just an hour or two.

The picture is of real people taken at an actual Sparkle session, but it's gone through a filter to protect participants' privacy. Don't worry - they don't look like that in real life. 😆

We've got some fabulous hymns on the list for tomorrow's service, including Jesus shall Reign written by the great Isaac Watts. Born in 1674, Watts wrote over 750 hymns, including When I Survey the Wondrous Cross and Joy to the World. If you'd like to limber up for tomorrow, or if you can't be there, have a listen here:

"Jesus Shall Reign Where'er the Sun" was written by the great Engli...
