The gospel is good news. It tells of the unmerited favour of God found in his one and only Son, Jesus Christ who died on the Cross that we might be forgiven all our sins and receive his hift of righteousness. Salvation is free. It comes to us bu divine grace and by human rffort or religious deeds. If you are reading this message, it is probably because you have already met Jesus and believed in him for your salvation’. Always keep in mind, the gospel is the power of God for your life.
For I am mot ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of Godto salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. Forit it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”
Romans 1:16-17
Through a simple act of faith, you receive the righteousness of God. This guarantees your place in heaven, which can never be taken from you.
Nothing . . . Shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
You receive God’s free gift of salvation by faith, and by faith alone, No other condition is attached to God’s promiseof new life in Christ.
If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation, by faith. Romans 10:9-10
If you have genuinely trusted Christ for your salvation and confessed this faith before others, it means you are now in Christ and tour life is totally acceptable to God, This is not of your doing, or a position you have earned. It has nothing to do with anything you have ever done, or ever could do. Only God can save you, assure you of his eternal love and bring you finally to heaven. Salvation, from start to finish - nothing more.
The Process Of Change
You may have had a powerful encounter with Christ, on your own, in a church service or on an Encounter Such experiences are vitally important as you go on in your Christian life. They help you realise that Jesus Christ is real and that he is alive today.
An encounter with the Lord will always bring an experience of real freedom and deliverance in your life, You come to realise that what Jesus said is true:
If the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. Matthew 28:18-20
You also begin to see for yourself the truth of these words of the apostle Paul:
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things become new.
New Creation Living
But this truth is not just to be experienced in special moments with Christ. It applies to you every day as long as you live. Because you are a new creation in Christ. God wants you to live out that new creation life. He calls you to put off the old patterns of thinking and living and to put on the new life Christ gave you. He expects you to exchange your old ways for new ways of thinking and behaving consistent with who you are now - a new creation. He wants you to become in your daily life more like new person you really are through your faith in Christ.
As you fix your focus on Christ, tje Holy Spirit keeps on transforming you from the inside out, bringing real and lasting change into your life. You were completely set free from your sin and old life the moment you believed in Christ, but the practical process of becoming like Jesus takes longer. God by his grace leads you to become more and more like Jesus, from the moment you believe to the moment you finally enter heaven, where you will him forever. The Bible calls this process sanctification’.
God’s Plan For You
The Christian life is more than getting your ‘ticket to heaven’. It is about how you live here on the earth walking as disciple of Jesu Christ and serving him according to his plan for your life. True discipleship is ‘the life that springs from grace’. The apostle Paul shows that we have been saved freely by God’s grace which we receive as a gift from God, not as a reward for our own works or efforts (see Ephesians 2:8-9). He also shows us the life that flows from this grace and the salvation we have received: the life of good works God has prepared in advance for us to do.
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; It is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:8-10
