"Number Our Days"
Key Verse🔖📖 Psalm 90:12 KJV — "So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom."
This truth confronts us with the fragile nature of our earthly existence, compelling us to number our days and align our daily choices with God's eternal purposes.
Marks of Wise Decisions
1) Purpose to Draw Closer to God
True wisdom begins with seeking a deeper intimacy with God. If a choice does not clearly align with God's will, it will ultimately distance you from Him. As Colossians 3:2 reminds us, we must set our minds on things above, ensuring our daily choices are designed to please and glorify Him.
2) The Proof of Christ-Likeness
Our decisions should reflect the character of Jesus. This means cultivating a truly forgiving heart—even toward those who have disrupted your peace—and walking in genuine humility in all circumstances.
3) Lasting Peace and Cheerfulness
According to Proverbs 3:17, wisdom's ways are ways of pleasantness and peace. When we make choices without consulting God beforehand, we often find ourselves lacking joy. True, God-honoring decisions are marked by a deep sense of inner peace and a cheerful heart (Proverbs 15:20).
