ποΈIn Loving Memory of Deacon Abris De Matran ποΈ
βI have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; in the future there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearingβ 2 Timothy 4:7-8
On behalf of His Grace Mar Awraham Youkhanis and all the clergy of the Diocese of Western Europe, we announce with deep sorrow the passing of Deacon Abris De Matran, who departed this earthly life on 8 June 2026 in London, United Kingdom.
The late Deacon Abris faithfully served the Church for many decades. He was ordained to the Diaconate at the age of 15, at Mar Youkhana the Baptist Church in Harir, Iraq, by his uncle, the blessed Saint Mar Yosip Khnanisho.
Deacon Abris was a devoted servant of the Church, known for his wisdom, humility and strong faith.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Lucrece De Matran, and his sons; Deacon Nilus Abris Shlimoon (California, USA), and Nenif Abris Shlimoon (Erbil, Iraq), and as well as four grandchildren.
We pray that our Lord grants rest to his soul among the righteous and comforts his family, relatives and all who knew and loved him.
May his memory be blessed and eternal π
