On Sunday, the Feast of Corpus Christi, the Assumption Sisters and young people visited the Cathedral in Vilnius before joining thousands gathered in the city for Mass celebrated by the Archbishop. Together, they took part in the Corpus Christi procession through the streets, a public witness to faith.

In the evening, the celebrations continued as WACOM6 officially kicked off , beginning what promises to be a joyful and grace-filled week together 🎉🙏

A group of Religious of the Assumption Sisters from the Province of Europe, together with young adults from England, Belgium, Italy, and Lithuania, are participating in the 6th World Apostolic Congress on Mercy in Vilnius. The opening day brought together pilgrims, bishops, priests, and members of religious orders from around the world in a beautiful expression of the universality of the Church. The celebrations began with Mass on the Solemnity of Corpus Christi outside the Cathedral Basilica, followed by a Eucharistic procession through the streets of Vilnius to the Hill of the Saviour, where the official opening of the Congress took place. The gathering is centred on the theme, “Building the City of Mercy.”

Vilnius holds a unique place in the history of Divine Mercy. It was here that Saint Faustina received important revelations and where the first image of the Merciful Jesus was painted. From this city, the Church received five precious gifts of Divine Mercy spirituality: the Divine Mercy Chaplet, the Divine Mercy Image, the Feast of Divine Mercy, the Hour of Mercy, and the Novena to Divine Mercy. As the largest of the Baltic States, Lithuania's history of faith and resilience makes it a fitting place to gather and reflect on the message of God's mercy for the world today!

By giving themselves without reserve to Jesus Christ, the sisters dedicate their lives unconditionally to the building up of his body, to the prophetic proclamation of the Good News and to the coming of the Kingdom.

19th Anniversary of the Canonisation of Mother Marie-Eugénie ✨

On 3 June 2007, Pope Benedict XVI canonised Mother Marie-Eugénie de Jésus Milleret (1817–1898), foundress of the Religious of the Assumption, in Saint Peter’s Square. In his homily, he recalled that although the wisdom of God shines forth throughout creation, it is in the saints that his greatness is most fully revealed: they are his true “masterpieces.” To recall that day today is to reflect on the legacy of a woman whose life was profoundly shaped by Christ and whose witness continues to speak to our time.

The Trinity reveals that God is a communion of love: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Created in God's image, we are called to live in relationship with others, growing in love, unity and self-giving. The more we open our lives to God, the more we reflect that divine love in our families, communities and daily encounters.

Today the Church celebrates Mary, Mother of the Church — a reminder that at the foot of the Cross, Jesus entrusted His Mother to all of us.

Mary remained standing beside Christ in suffering, faith, and hope. Her quiet “yes” became a witness of courage, love, and trust that still speaks to the Church.

As we continue the joy of Pentecost, we are reminded that we are never alone — the Mother of the Church walks with us in every trial and every grace.
