COMING SOON! An evening of art and poetry at Christ Church Streatham. Our very own poet Denise Woodhouse has written six inspired and moving poems to accompany the prints of six tapestries by contemporary artist Jacqui Parkinson. They explore the themes of Creation and the care thereof, Christ's presence in Creation and the Annunciation, Nativity and Crucifixion of our Lord.

TUESDAY 8th SEPTEMBER, 7.30pm. You don't want to miss it!

All the original tapestries - called 'Threads through the Bible' - will be on exhibition at Southwark Cathedral from 3rd September - 7th October.

A few lovely photographs from our magnificent high mass for the Feast of Our Lady courtesy of Michael Lovedar! Thank you Michael. Great thanks also go to Fr Simon Cuff for celebrating the mass and the Rev’d Hannah Swithinbank for deaconing and to Mthr Clemency Flitter for a fantastic, moving and inspiring sermon on the Assumption of Our Lady! Thanks also to our director of music Francis Bushell for gathering the musical troops of our deanery and further afield to create a festival choir for Louis Vierne’s Messe Solonelle and to Charles Janz for working wonders on our lovely organ. And last but certainly not least, huge thanks to Xavier White for his artistry, time and wisdom in creating our first piece of contemporary art for Christ Church as the first piece of his residency with us. TOMORROW Christ Church Streatham is very proud to present its first artwork by artist in residence Xavier White. The grand unveiling and blessing of the artwork will take place as part of our celebratory mass for the Feast of Our Lady SATURDAY 15TH AUGUST 3PM, followed by a garden party at the vicarage. All are welcome!

A special service for the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, to include a special guest preacher, Mother Clemency Flitter; a Festival Choir incorporating choirs from across the area and the unveiling of the first artwork from our Artisit in Residence, Xavier White. All followed by a barbeque and garden party!

The preparations and excitement for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat continue! This time in the form of serious bicep action building the staging and the director of music taking centre stage! A GREAT evening of parish life!
