I have seen the Lord! May these words of Mary Magdalene resonate in your soul this Easter. Wishing you a season filled with new beginnings, unwavering faith, and the presence of the Living Christ. The icon is painted by Kelly Latimore.

We had a meaningful conversation on what Church means and how we understand the presence of Christ in the Eucharist. Around the table was a diverse mix of Anglican and Lutheran clergy, theological students, and young professionals from Orthodox, Catholic, Anglican, and Lutheran backgrounds. What stood out was our shared sense that Christ is present among us as we gather and remember His love for humanity.

We were also blessed to have Assistant Curate David Jones from St Stephen’s Church, Westminster(part of his Ecumenical Placement), and Lea Schulz, a theological student from Germany interning with the German Synod.

And in true Eat & Encounter spirit, we ended with some wooden egg painting! Grateful for these moments of listening, sharing, and being community together.

During this Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, we pause to give thanks for the rich diversity of Christian traditions and to recommit ourselves to the call of unity in Christ.

A powerful sermon by Rev. Joshua Peckett for this Week of Prayer for Christian Unity reminded us of a timely and deeply grounding wisdom. Reflecting on the words of one of the great twentieth-century Archbishops of Canterbury, Michael Ramsey, he shared five “helps” offered to clergy—wisdom that continues to guide all Christians as we seek to journey faithfully without being sidetracked by pride:

Take care in the confession of your sins

Be ready to accept humiliations

Do not worry about status

Use your sense of humour

And above all, thank God—often and always

As Ramsey taught, “Thankfulness is a soil in which pride does not easily grow.”

Thank you, Rev. Peckett, for this timely and grace-filled message that calls us back to humility, gratitude, and unity in Christ.
