During the school half term, we had the youth of Dharma joining us at Dharma Mandir for the Shiv Abhishek where they chanted mantras, singing Bhajans and assisted in the Abhishek itself.
This is one of the many greatest joy of Dharma Mandir, in seeing the youth take ownership of our traditions rather than just going through the motions because they were told to.
Whether it’s a teenager nailing a complex classical dance piece, youth helping with a puja, or just seeing them wear traditional clothes with a sense of pride, it feels like a bridge between the past and the future is being built in real-time. It gives you a lot of hope that the core of the culture isn’t just surviving, but actually thriving.
We would like to thank the youth for helping out during the half term and also to Ray for giving us his POV on worshipping Lord Shiva.
