በስመ አብ ወወልድ ወመንፈስ ቅዱስ አሐዱ አምላክ አሜን !
ውድ የመንፈስ ቅዱስ ልጆቻችን ከሁሉ አስቀድመን ምድራችንን በልምላሜንና በፍጹም በረከት እያደሰ ዘመንን በዘመን እየተካ ጸጋውን ያበዛልን እግዚአብሔር አምላካችን እንኳን ከሁለት ሺሕ አስራ ሰባት ዓመተ ምሕረት ዘመነ ቅዱስ ማቴዎስ ወደ ሁለት ሺሕ ዐሥራ ስምንት ዓመተ ምሕረት ዘመነ ቅዱስ ማርቆስ በሰላምና በጤና አደረሳችሁ !

"ልበ ንጹሐ ፍጥር ሊተ እግዚኦ ፣ ወመንፈሰ ርቱዐ ሐድስ ውስተ ከርሥየ። አቤቱ ንጹሕ ልብን ፍጠርልኝ፡ የቀናውንም መንፈስ በውስጤ አድስ።"

በክርስቶስ የተወደዳችሁ ልጆቻችን፣
በእግዚአብሔር ምሕረትና ቸርነት ወደዚህ አዲስ ዓመት ስንሻገር፣ እውነተኛ ለውጥ የሚጀምረው ከውጫዊ ምድራዊ ሁኔታዎች ሳይሆን ከእያንዳንዳችን ልብ መሆኑን ማስታወስ ይገባናል። አባታችን ልዑል እግዚአብሔር በቅዱስ ቃሉ “አዲስም ልብ እሰጣችኋለሁ፣ አዲስም መንፈስ በውስጣችሁ አኖራለሁ” (ሕዝቅኤል 36:26) በማለት ትክክለኛና ዘላቂ የሆነ ለውጥ የሰው ነፍስ ለእግዚአብሔር መለኮታዊ ትዕዛዝ፣ ሀሳብና ፈቃድ ሲታዘዝና ከጨለማ ወደ ብርሃን ሲመለስ የሚገኝ የእግዚአብሔር ስጦታ መሆኑ አስገንዝቦናል።

የሕይወታችን፣ የቤተሰቦቻችንና የሀገራችን ትልቁ ጥንካሬ የሚመነጨው በእግዚአብሔር ጸጋ ከተለወጠ ልብ ነው። ያልተለወጠ ልብ ጥላቻን፣ ስግብግብነትንና መለያየትን ሲወልድ፣ በመንፈስ ቅዱስ የተሞላ ልብ ግን የሕይወት ምንጭ ይሆናል። ሐዋርያው ቅዱስ ጳውሎስ “የመንፈስ ፍሬ ግን ፍቅር፣ ደስታ፣ ሰላም፣ ትዕግሥት፣ ቸርነት፣ በጎነት፣ እምነት፣ የዋህነት፣ ራስን መግዛት ነው” (ገላቲያ 5፡22–23) በማለት ይመሰክራል።
ስለዚህ፣ ወንጌል መጀመሪያ ሌሎችን እንድንኮንን ሳይሆን፣ መንፈስ ቅዱስ በውስጣችን እንዲሠራ እንድንፈቅድ ይጠራናል። ራሳችንን እንድንመረምር፣ ከልብ ክፋትን ትተን ንስሐ እንድንገባ እና የእግዚአብሔር ሕያው ቤተ መቅደስ እንድንሆን ያሳስበናል። መንፈስ ቅዱስ በውስጣችን ሲኖርት፣ ውድመት ለፈውስ፣ ራስ ወዳድነት ለጋስነት፣ መለያየት ለአንድነት፣ እና ተስፋ መቁረጥ ለተስፋ ቦታቸውን ይለቅቃሉ። እንዲህ ያሉት ልቦች ቤተሰባችንን፣ ማኅበረሰባችንን እና በመጨረሻም የተወደደችውን ሀገራችንን ይለውጣሉ።

እኛ ኢትዮጵያውያንም ታሪካችን በብዙ ፈተናዎች ውስጥ የክርስቶስን ብርሃን በተሸከሙና ቤተክርስቲያናችንንና ሀገራችንን ባስጌጡ ቅዱሳን የከበረ ነው። ዛሬም ያ መንፈስ በእኛ ውስጥ ሕያው ነው። ልባችን በትሕትና፣ በአንድነትና በፍቅር ሲመራ፣ ሀገራችንም ብሎም ዓለማችን ያብባሉ። ሁለንተናዊ ለውጥ የሚመጣው እያንዳንዳችን በእግዚአብሔር ፊት በጽድቅ፣ በትህትናና በፍቅር ለመኖር ኃላፊነት ስንወስድና ስለ ኃጢአታችን ንስሐ ስንገባ ብቻ ነው።

ሀገራዊ መታደስ ሩቅ ሕልም ሳይሆን እያንዳንዳችን ለእግዚአብሔር የሰላም፣ የጽድቅና የፍቅር መሣሪያ እንድንሆን ራሳችንን ስንሰጥ፣ እውን የሚሆን ሕያው ተስፋ ነው።
ስለዚህ፣ የተወደዳችሁ ልጆቼ፣ አዲስ ዓመትን ስንጀምር ለውጥን ከውጪ መፈለግን አቁመን ይልቁንም በመጀመሪያ በጸሎት፣ በጾም፣ በይቅርታና በመታረቅ እንፈልገው። የእያንዳንዳችን ልብ የሰላም መሠዊያ ከሆነ፣ ቤተሰቦቻችን ይፈወሳሉ፣ ቤተሰቦቻችን ከተፈወሱ፣ ማኅበረሰባችን ይፈወሳል። ማኅበረሰባችን ከተፈወሰ ደግሞ የተወደደች ሀገራችን ኢትዮጵያም ብሎም ዓለማችን ይፈወሳሉ።

ሁሉን ነገር አዲስ የሚያደርግ (ራእይ 21:5) ጌታ በዚህ ዓመት አዲስ መንፈስን ይስጠን።

To my beloved Children in Jesus Christ,
Peace and blessing be unto you from God the Father, grace be unto you from His Only-Begotten Son, and sanctification be unto you from the Holy Spirit, who renews all creation and makes all things new. Amen.
Beloved children, first and foremost, I greet you with the apostolic blessing of our holy Church: “Peace be to you all.” May the Lord, who renews the face of the earth and sustains all by His providence, grant that you joyfully pass from the year 2017 E.C. into the year 2018 E.C. in health, peace, and spiritual prosperity.
“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
(Psalm 51:10)
As we cross into this new year through the mercy and kindness of our Lord, we must remember that true transformation does not begin with external change, but within the heart. The Lord promises through His prophet: “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you” (Ezekiel 36:26). This renewal is not the work of human will alone, but a gift of divine grace received when we obey His commandments, renounce sin, and walk in His light.
The strength of our lives, our families, and our nation is rooted in hearts renewed by God. An unchanged heart breeds hatred, greed, and division, but a heart filled with the Holy Spirit becomes a fountain of life and blessing. The Apostle Paul testifies: “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control” (Galatians 5:22-23).
Therefore, the Gospel calls us not first to condemn others, but to allow the Spirit to work within us—to examine our lives, repent of our sins, and become temples of the living God. Where the Spirit dwells, destruction gives way to healing, selfishness to generosity, division to unity, and despair to hope. Renewed hearts bring renewal to our families, to our communities, and to our beloved Ethiopia.
Our history is sanctified by the witness of holy fathers, mothers, martyrs, and saints who, through many trials, bore the light of Christ and adorned both the Church and our country. Today, that same Spirit is entrusted to us. When we live in humility, unity, and love, our Church flourishes and our nation is lifted. National renewal is not a distant hope, but a living reality when each one of us offers ourselves as an instrument of God’s peace, love, and righteousness.

Therefore, my beloved children in Jesus Christ, as we begin this new year, let us not seek change merely from the outside, but within our own souls—through prayer, fasting, forgiveness, repentance, and reconciliation. If every heart becomes an altar of peace, our families will be healed; if our families are healed, our communities will be strengthened; if our communities are strengthened, Ethiopia—and indeed, the world—will be renewed.
May the Lord, who declares, “Behold, I make all things new” (Revelation 21:5), grant each of you a renewed spirit in this blessed year of grace.
✝️ Through the prayers of our Lady the Theotokos, St. Mary, and the intercessions of all the saints who have shone forth in Ethiopia and throughout the world, may Christ our true God bless this year, grant you health, peace, and spiritual joy, and make you steadfast in His love—now and always, and unto the ages of ages.
