Preaching the Gospel

Preaching the Gospel The way to heaven, is to accept Jesus Christ as your lord and personal saviour, and also learn how to keep the commandment

The progression of Ephesians can be viewed as:

1. God’s eternal purpose in Christ (chapters 1–3).
2. The creation and building up of the one Body (chapters 2–4).
3. The practical living that expresses this reality (chapters 4–6).

From this perspective, Ephesians presents the church as God’s masterpiece and the means through which Christ is expressed and God’s purpose is fulfilled.

1 John 1:7

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

The mystery of Christ: In Ephesians, Paul explains that God’s purpose, once hidden, has now been revealed. This mystery includes God’s intention to unite both Jews and Gentiles in one Body through Christ (Ephesians 3:3–6).
* The Body of Christ: The church is presented as Christ’s Body, with Christ as the Head. Every believer is a member of this living organism, sharing in Christ’s life and functioning together (Ephesians 1:22–23; 4:15–16).
* The fullness of Christ: Ephesians 1:23 describes the church as “His Body, the fullness of the One who fills all in all.” The idea is that the church is the corporate expression of Christ, manifesting His life and attributes on earth.
* The fullness of God: Paul prays that believers would be strengthened, know the love of Christ, and “be filled unto all the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:19). This points to God’s desire that His people be filled with His life and nature for His expression.
