Ho, Ho, Ho Merry Christmas......on hang on that's finished....isn't it? Before Christmas becomes a distant memory we'd love you to share how you used the advent packs with your families? It may be that you gave them away or perhaps you used them within your groups/ services? That is exactly what one Church did - here's their story on how they shared theirs with their uniform groups..
At Heath, it’s often said that we don’t have any children. But in fact we have lots - they just meet as the uniformed organisations during the week instead of on Sunday mornings when most of our members meet. So for a number of years we have been purchasing the advent packs and giving them to the beavers. This year I visited them on 1st December to tell them about the pack and to invite them to the service the following Sunday, which would be led by me, and would be based on the pack. Attendance was good, including a number from the older uniformed organisations, and they joined in reading parts of the story, sorting anagrams to find key words, and unwrapping gifts to gradually build a nativity scene. We will continue to invite them to parade services four times a year, and to visit them before the services to deliver the invite in person.
