For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
John 3:16‭-‬17 the bible

Who is Jesus ?
Jesus was God and a man at the same time.

Why did Jesus die?
Jesus was and is the only person who was and is perfect. Jesus never sinned. But we all have sinned. Sinning is an offence against God, a person, or a principle, we can do this in our thinking or our behaviour. When Jesus died on the Cross he took away our sins so that we could come to God as we never sinned. We are righteous before a righteous God.

Why become a Christian ?
To take jesus up on his deal, the deal being that he died for us, took away our sins, he resurrected and gave us his Holy Spirit so that we can have a relationship with him. In addition, to this we will spend eternity with him in heaven. Our relationship, is not earned and we cannot get to heaven by earning our way there. It’s only by his deeds that we can come before him.

We can allow God into our lives and start to change our behaviour this is by our choices. God is absolutely Holy, and wants a relationship with you. this is good for us, because we get that correction and convictions to change our old way of living to a brand new way of life.

How do I start my relationship with Jesus?
It very simple, all you have to do is tell him you that you want to have a relationship with him.

Here are some words you can say, but the main thing is that you are serious about what you say, and that these are not just empty words.

Jesus I accept all you done on the Cross for me, that you died for me, you resurrected and are alive and I thank you for all you have done for me. I believe in you and I ask that you help me to follow you.

Then ask him to help you find a church to go to and start going.

I am nearly 40 years old. The last 2 years and 10 months I have been in recovery form drug and alcohol addiction as well as mental health illnesses. I have always took drugs and drank to change the way I feel because I felt isolated, different from everyone. I was full of fear, hurt and resentful. I always felt that there was a black cloud over me and never really felt a sense of belonging in the world. For years I’ve listened to that voice in my mind that tells me I’m no good, I will never amount to anything. I have been a Christian for around 10-11 years and it’s only been the last 2or so years that I have been really looking at my identity in Christ.
My negative thinking was holding me back it was a barrier to a life I never dreamt off. I am now working as an employment coordinator with people struggling from metal health. I am apart of 2 prayer teams. I am a mentor to young children. I am a sponsor. I have created a workshop. This is just a few things, Jesus has changed my life, my outlook on life and he has changed my heart. I am not perfect, I am broken but I am broken beautifully and God can use me. That’s the miracle of being a child of God.
