Last week, as part of The London Eucharistic Octave 2026, we hosted a Sung Requiem Mass for the repose of the soul of Pope Benedict XVI, which was followed by a talk entitled 'Benedict's Devotion to the Eucharist', by Prof Jacob Phillips, Professor of Systematic Theology at St Mary’s University, and translator of Last Testament: In His Own Words, Pope Benedict’s final book.

Prof Phillips spoke of Benedict's reverence for the Mass, the liturgical rubrics that governed it, and how these things help to point to the reality that the Eucharistic species is the full, embodied presence of God before us.

A delight to have Bishop Paul Mason, Bishop of the Forces, with us yesterday for the Mass of Corpus Christi, as well as the Procession that followed. The church was PACKED, with people standing in the street for Mass. Adoremus in æternum!
