“You will forget your misery; it will be like water flowing away. Your life will be brighter than the noonday. Even darkness will be as bright as morning. Having hope will give you courage. You will be protected and will rest in safety. You will lie down unafraid, and many will look to you for help.”

Most of you know our names by now, I’m Tinga Tinga and my dog-sister Lolli-Pop, our owners decided to name us our names for a special reason, I was named after a CBeebies series that my owners used to watch when they was younger and is a well known African painting style but what convinced my owners to give me my name is because according to a user from Zimbabwe, the name Tinga means "Something special"...... Need I say more. A lot of thought usually goes in when you humans name your children however have you ever thought of those who are named by GOD ?? ‘Abraham’s’ name used to be ‘Abram’ and GOD also renamed Sarai ‘Sarah.’ While Mary was pregnant she wasn’t looking through a baby book and stumbled on the name ‘Jesus’ it was GOD who commanded Mary that name was to be given to His Son. There are times in The Bible when GOD commands a name of a child or changes their name, there’s a range of reasons why this has been done, in some cases a name is prophetic but there are times when it shows the changing of a person by giving them a new name. Revelation 3:12 talks about Jesus wanting to write the name of His GOD on His people. He wants to give you His promise of being able to change your heart and give you everlasting life, ensuring YOU and your changed state is written in that Book of Life. Believe and GOD will deliver on His promises by giving you that new name, when you believe that change can happen, it will become a reality. You will hear your new name being called by Him and His leading to what your calling is meant to be.

2021 has begun, it’s usually the time of year I hear you humans speak about the new things you want to achieve in the year to come. When I go walking with Ciara I notice the people we see running around the block who vowed to start to be more healthy in January, gradually we see less and by the time March is here we barely see them at all !! But 2020 has made you guys priorities change, through the lens of uncertainty suddenly you human goals and perspective have become different, now you want to spend more time with family rather than going on a Netflix binge or think about saving money instead of spending it all on Amazon. Ciara’s resolution is to spend more time with me, I mean I’m 7 years old, it’s took the pandemic for her to notice The Adventist Dog !!! The point here guys is there a resolution your overlooking completely, to become more like Jesus in your daily life, 1 John 2:17 tells that this world has nothing to give. Jesus should be the priority because when you take Him on with an open and prayerful heart that’s when the change begins and not because it’s a New Year. Tell Him the changes you want to make as it’s only with His help can it begin to happen, once you allow Jesus to help with your new resolution game plan the results will be a life giving gift that will become an eternal memory. Sorry for the long break, but Lolli and I are soo excited to be back !! Have a GRRRRRRRRREAT SABBATH DAY GUYS !! Lots of Love from Tinga Tinga The Adventist Dog !! 💙🙏🏾🐾

“I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body rests in safety. For you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your Holy One to rot in the grave. You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.”

So we are in another lockdown, when I’m on walks I’ve noticed people crossing the road when they pass my owner and I and no it’s not because I’m barking at them their just scared my owners going to make them ill. The ‘rona’ is having an impact on daily tasks, mental health and also peoples jobs and could have become a worry for us all in one way or another. Jesus addressed worrying in an amusing way in Matt 6:27 “Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?” The answer is no, in fact too much worrying can shorten it. Most worry about things that could happen meaning it could not happen either. You humans are not in control in what happens in this world and there are some things is just out of your control, a study has shown that 85% of what people have worried about something that didn’t happen and out of the 15% that did happen most said it was something they were able to deal with. Dwelling on GODs promises is a way to keep you grounded when worries or fear come your way and The Bible has plenty to give you strength, study and worship will keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and your ears focused on GODs Word. Jesus is our burden bearer and our friend not only when things go right but when they start to look wrong to. Prayer is a great reliever of stress why not go to Him in prayer and feel the weight of worry release. The world was not created to worry, in fact is was made perfectly as something for us to enjoy but the deceiver doesn’t want us to know that because he wants to make us sick with worry. As you go through life reflect on this promise in Isaiah 41:10, “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

When you humans are working on a project, whether it be at work or home, when focused all seems to go swimmingly. Then other things come to your mind and then distractions seep in and the length of the project ending becomes distant or the quality of the finished product seems to crumble. There was a time when Peter, one of Jesus’s disciples, got distracted and because of these distractions made him question his faith in Jesus. When you have time download the You Version app to get a free bible on your phone (if you need my owner to help you feel free to ask her) and have a look at Matthew 14:22 onwards. When Peter asked Jesus if he could walk on water and believed in His promise that he could, he was successful but when the waves crashed and he became distracted, his faith weakened and began to sink. Like Peter, with the circumstances in your life your faith could weaken. You may need a little reminder of needing total dependence of relying on Christ’s strength but don’t worry this wouldn’t diminish the beautiful plan GOD has put in place so at the end of time you will have the victory. In fact Jesus loves it when you trust Him and calls you to do just this, He said in Matt 9:29 “....Because of your faith, it will happen.” Let today be the day your faith allows you to walk on water as long as you believe and stay focused on Christ for the strength you require, you will have the victory, in this world or the new world to come.

How are you with your use of time, are you good at using it wisely or are you running around like the White Rabbit in Alice and Wonderland because your so late for everything. Between us, last week my owner wasn’t very good at using her time that’s why she couldn’t broadcast The Adventist Dog Message which brings on the question, is time an issue one should be aware of ? During you humans lifetime you spend rrrroughly around 6 months of your time waiting in line for something during your lifetime, apart from when my owner is buying my dog food or treats for me, that potentially can be a lot of time wasted queuing for things. I always hear her say the older she gets the faster time seems to be going so it’s very important how it is used. A study has shown the average person spends 90 mins a day on their phone!! You may have some burning questions about GOD or religion so think about it, if you used that time to pray, study or helping others imagine how closer you’d be to Him. Proverbs 18:6 says, “I love all who love me. Those who search will surely find me.” This is a promise that time spent with GOD will cause a revealing of Himself to those looking for Him, isn’t that just marvellous! As the Adventist Dog I keep the Sabbath, in creation GOD reserved this one day just to spend time with us. He’s so patient with us that He gives us 6 days to do whatever we want but on His one day He asks to spend time with us because as our creator He loves us so much and it’s all about getting to know what a glorious GOD we have access to, let’s start seeing how important the time spent Sabbath keeping is guys. Knowing Jesus’s coming is very soon, the use of time is very important. Maybe it’s time to look at how your time is used, is it being used to give GOD the honour and glory? It might be time to make sure it is because when doing so, you will be blessed. Would you like to spend more time in study? Let me know, my owner knows plenty of platforms you can better use your time, in study or godly discussions.

11/09/2020

Have you ever found yourself having to defend what you believe or knowing what you believe in felt embarrassed to defend your belief ? You see whatever your faith is there will be a time when you will have to confirm what you believe in, the Bible tells us in 1 Peter 3:15 to always be ready to defend your faith. Whether it be at the school, college or the workplace, not that He needs our help, but would you be able to stand firm in your belief while fighting for GOD ? It all comes down to faith, GODs has given his armor of righteousness in this battle so all who believe are able to stand their ground and be the light in the darkness to others while standing firm against the evil ones and his strategies (Eph 6:11-14) however humans remember hate cannot fight hate, it will only create the decisive barriers that the devil wants you to have in your life. Instead look at what Jesus has done for His children in love through His life and death, that’s what should done for others by letting go of all the temporary things life has to offer and giving yourself up for your brothers and sisters (1 John 3:16) and if this is done, Christ’s love would be reflected and I’m sure the world would be a better place. So when someone asks you about your faith don’t be afraid to sing 🎵 GOD’s Not Dead.... He’s Surely Alive !! 🎵and sing it like you mean it human because He really is living on the inside, let him roar like a lion so that Jesus’s love that is so bold can bring a revolution to others life somehow.

The Adventist Dogs hope you feel encouraged by this song.

“Do what is good and run from evil so that you may live! Then the Lord God of Heaven’s Armies will be your helper, just as you have claimed. Hate evil and love what is good; turn your courts into true halls of justice. Perhaps even yet the Lord God of Heaven’s Armies will have mercy on the remnant of his people.”
