A little piece of St James’ history for your Wednesday.

This foundation stone, laid in May 1887 by J. L. A. Fontaine, Esq., marks the beginning of our church as we know it today.

Over 139 years later, it’s still here...but quite a lot has changed. Today, the church is home to The Sherriff Centre during the week - as a post office, community café, soft play and events space, bringing people together in all sorts of ways.

And on Sundays, the church still comes together for our morning service.

While the building may have changed with the times, its place at the heart of West Hampstead's community remains.♥️
