Dear Brothers and Sisters,
London Colney Islamic Centre (LCIC) is a charity which was set up to provide facilities for the local community. Alhumdullilah (all praise be to Allah) we were able to complete the purchase of the premises in November 2010 and the charity has been flourishing ever since thanks to the support of the community and their gene
rous donations. Since November 2010 LCIC has grown at a rapid rate, by the Grace of Allah Subhana wat’alaah and now provides numerous facilities which include:
•Monthly and Weekly Talks – Alhumdullilah, Weekly talks are held at LCIC by our local Imam which help us to better ourselves as a person from the viewpoint of the Qur’an and Sunnah. We always encourage everybody to attend the mosque for these talks; however we understand that for some people, such as the elderly and sisters with small children, this may be difficult. Therefore in order to ensure that they do not miss out, the centre has a transmitter which will allow them to listen on their signal receivers at home. Insha Allah all talks from LCIC will be posted on our website and notifications will be made via the page. There are also weekly tajweed classes and monthly talks for sisters only
•Children’s Madrassah – At LCIC we believe that providing a religious education for the youth of the community is essential. The children learn from a structured syllabus which consists of Qur’an and Islamic studies modules. We aim to help the children develop the characteristics of an obedient Muslim as well as an upstanding citizen of the community.
•Da’wah – As well as providing educational facilities for Muslims, we strongly believe in giving da’wah to non Muslims. We value the importance of integration within society and therefore hold open days and other multifaith events on a regular basis. We also participate in local events such as the local summer fair also known as ‘Larks in the Park’. In this way we are able to integrate into the society and introduce/ propagate Islam to others.
