Last night, Thursday 8th September, the church held a very special service for the licensing of our new vicar, Revd. David Roberts.
He becomes Associate Priest in the new North Monmouthshire Ministry Area. He and his lovely wife Tess, will be moving in to the vicarage ,in Llanfihangel Crucorney , and will be very much part of our community.
The service, led by our Bishop Cherry, was both joyful and moving, with the new "Pop Up Choir" helping to swell the singing, and performing two lovely anthems.
We at St. Michael's, along with the valley churches, St. David's, and St. Martin's, are delighted to welcome David and Tess, and look forward to his first service at St. Michael's this coming Sunday.
At the start of the service, Bishop Cherry broke the news of the Death of Queen Elizabeth, and she was of course remembered in our prayers , along with her family.

After the service was over, we spent a really lovely time celebrating, socialising, and enjoying lovely refreshments.
Thanks to all the organisers for such hard work.... and now, we go into the future with confidence.
Once again, welcome, David and Tess. We wish you many years of happiness.
