Friends of St Myllins Church

Friends of St Myllins Church We are ‘The Friends of St Myllin’s Church, Llanfyllin’. And we support the maintainance
of this historic building for use by all the community.

A group of local residents have started ‘The Friends of St Myllin’s Church, Llanfyllin’. We aim to provide a means for everyone, of all faiths or none, to help with the maintenance of this historic building and the surrounding churchyard. As a ‘Friend of St Myllin’s Church’ you would be:
- Helping to preserve the building and its heritage in good condition for the future.
- Enabling the church to

continue to be available to everyone for family occasions like baptisms, weddings and funerals.
- Helping to improve the buildings facilities and enable it to be used more widely by the community. To do this we obviously need to raise money! We hope people wanting to become "Friends" will agree to pay an annual subscription, attend fundraising events, and consider giving gifts and legacies. The money raised will be used for just that. It will not fund the vicarage, clergy salaries or prayer books, etc. Most importantly we need you to volunteer. We are at the very begining of this process and most of all need people to help us get organised. Join us by contacting us via this page or by phone.... or email.... Many thanks!

THANKYOU.
To the crowd of people who came to the Meet the Candidates event at Tabernacle, Llanfyllin in 3rd March. Your presence and questions made the hustings a success!
To the 7 candidates/ representatives who joined the panel - some taking a great deal of trouble to get there. Your thoughtful answers and general courtesy and time-keeping were welcomed by all.
To those who organised and worked hard to make the event the success it was behind the scenes.
And to St Myllins, Tabernacle ( the venue) and Pendref for hosting these hustings.

Questions covered the representation of women in the respective parties, health, education, public transport, 20mph limit and energy prices. And the answers diferentiated the parties and representatives!

Parties that participated:
Greens, Plaid Cymru, Welsh Labour, Liberal Democrats, Reform, Gwlad, Welsh Conservatives

An exciting afternoon of conversations about our participation in a Community Energy Generation project for Llanfyllin. St Myllins may have a key role to play in it as a net generator of energy. Also as we seek to replace oil with a sustainable heating and lighting source. We maybe rooted in our past but we are looking towards a sustainable future! Watch this space to learn more.
