EGYPT MY PEOPLE
For the Lord of Heaven’s Armies will say, “Blessed be Egypt, My people.” – Isa 19:25a
Egypt My People is a small group of primarily Egyptian believers whose love for God has overflowed into a love for their fellow Egyptians and other Muslims, desiring to see God’s kingdom coming amongst them.
It is a ministry that has grown organically as they have sought God and grown to realise the potential for harvest around them and the plight of their brothers and sisters, and has a wide variety of different activities aimed both at reaching other Muslims and supporting those who are marginalised in their society or under severe opposition for their faith.
Despite their limited resources, Egypt My People have seen tremendous growth and fruit from their work, with many Muslims coming to faith and in the blessing of those for whom faith has cost them everything. Due to the indigenous and low-key nature of their group, they are able to operate in many ways that wouldn’t be possible for larger organisations or western-led initiatives.
Egypt My People are praying for people who would be willing to partner with them in prayer, resourcing and in the exciting breakthroughs among those whom God will call “My People”.
* Persecuted Churches
Persecution of churches in North Africa is intensifying, forcing some underground, and demanding increasing boldness of others.
EMP partners with several churches that are very fruitful in their ministry and consequently under severe opposition, providing spiritual and financial support through their trials.
*London Arabic Street Outreach
There are hundreds of thousands of Arabic speakers in London, many of whom live near and frequent the Edgware Road district.
EMP co-ordinates summer teams of Arabic speakers to reach resident or holidaying Arabic speakers on the street, often not possible without risking arrest in other countries.
*Secret Believers
Intense attack comes against believers, especially those from Muslim background, in the form of rejection from family, physical and sexual assault, prison and death.
EMP provides vital spiritual and practical help for these believers, preventing forced conversions, and being a loving community to those rejected.
*Arabic page
EMP maintain a page that promotes Jesus and post content aimed at provoking curiosity about him. Many Muslims ask their questions and come to faith via this ministry.
A small team of EMP workers manage the page, both in creating content and following up with those who want to know more.
