Myrtle House is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee (Charity No. 1105421 | Company No. 5152593) based in Llanelli, South Wales. It operates as the charitable arm of Myrtle House Community Church (EFGA Charity No. 251549), with a distinct governance structure and a focus on social impact. Since 2004, we’ve been building stronger, more connected communities by supporting families a
nd individuals through compassionate, community-led initiatives. We believe in dignity, justice, and hope – and that everyone should have access to food, support, and opportunity. Our work includes:
The Llanelli Food Project: Evolving from Llanelli Foodbank (est. 2011), this initiative has grown into a broader response to food poverty and hardship. It includes:
- Llanelli Foodbank, distributes over 5,000 emergency food parcels each year, we work together with Trussell to make sure no-one faces hardship alone.
- The Community Table: A hybrid café offering standard meals, pay-what-you-can community meals, and a pay-it-forward scheme. It also provides training and volunteering.
- Friendship Centre: offers a welcoming space to reduce isolation and build supportive relationships, access to dance and movement classes, community meals and wraparound support that connect people to vital services.
- The Money Support Project (est. 2022): In partnership with Community Money Advice, we offer debt advice, budgeting help, and welfare support—empowering people to regain financial control.
- Myrtle House Nursery (est. 2005): A trusted early years and Flying Start setting offering high-quality childcare. The nursery also runs Myrtle House Parent & Toddlers, a family support project easing the transition into early education. Together, these projects support over 2,000 people each month and are designed to help people move from crisis to stability.
