Llandudno Junction Flyover: Bridge Refurbishment
Work starts: 9 May 2022
Work finishes: 20 July 2022

The Llandudno Junction flyover from the Weekly News roundabout to Conwy town needs refurbishing, to replace the waterproofing, movement joints and drainage.

This is a significant project which will be done in two phases – the first phase starts on 9 May 2022 and Phase 2 will be in 2023.

⛔ The flyover will be closed to traffic during the work. Please follow the signed diversion via the A*5 and Conwy tunnel.

✅ Access will be maintained for pedestrians and cyclists through the site from Conwy to the steps at the Llandudno Junction end of the site, near Lidl.

We understand that this work will cause major disruption and inconvenience, because the bridge is a main route into Conwy. It’s because this is a key route that the work is so important, to keep the bridge safe and open for years to come. The bridge was last closed for major work in 1995.

We are aiming to carry out the work 7 days a week with some overnight work, to get the work done as quickly as possible.

🙏 We are sorry for the inconvenience – thank you for your patience while we carry out this vital work.

Many thanks to all.

I am pleased to say that my successor as Tower Captain will be David Raggett.
