Monday 2nd February 2026

Today is Candlemas, marking the end of the Christmas season. It’s when we remember Mary and Joseph presenting Jesus in the Temple, and Simeon who recognized him as ‘a light to lighten the Gentiles.’ It’s a moment that looks back to Christmas and forward to all that lies ahead. Perhaps you could light a candle today to remember. And as many candles come together into one flame, we’re reminded that the light we receive is meant to be carried into the world, shared and lived out. Listen to this version of Charles Wesley’s hymn ‘O thou who camest from above’ and pray that we might all carry a little of that light with us, wherever we go.

Thank you for visiting the North Liverpool and South Sefton Methodist Circuit page.

The Circuit was formed on 1st September 2023, when the Liverpool North Circuit, Liverpool North Central Circuit, and part of the Crosby Circuit came together. We are a warm and welcoming group of churches across Liverpool, serving diverse communities including Anfield, Walton, Fazakerley, Kensington, Litherland, Crosby, Aintree, Netherton, West Derby, and many more.

Our website and page give a flavour of the many activities and events taking place within the circuit, and I encourage you to explore them.

We are committed to working together - ordained and lay - to share God’s love in Jesus with everyone. We are on a journey of discovery, remembering that God loves each of us unconditionally. That’s the good news. We are called to pray, love, learn, and serve; to notice and care for others; and to flourish as we live out God’s love each day.
