Churches in the United Kingdom and Ireland Request the Holy Synod to Correct Administrative Irregularities in the Diocese

The association of churches in the United Kingdom and Ireland has stated that 18 out of the 22 churches in the region have been experiencing administrative difficulties due to the absence of a properly functioning spiritual leader in the area. They explained that, starting two years ago, they formed a joint association of churches and submitted their concerns to the Holy Synod.

The association has accused the diocesan archbishop, His Grace Abune Yacob, of failing to properly fulfill his responsibilities. The matter was discussed during the Holy Synod’s meeting held last October. The Holy Synod instructed His Grace to remain in his episcopal seat, reorganize the diocese, and present a report at the May session.

However, in statements released today by various stakeholders in the UK, it was alleged that His Grace has disregarded the directives of the Holy Synod and is acting outside established legal and ecclesiastical procedures. They have called upon the Holy Synod to provide an urgent solution to the situation.

Attempts made to contact the diocesan archbishop regarding the matter were unsuccessful, and the diocesan office also did not respond to inquiries sent via email.

Churches in the United Kingdom and Ireland have called on the Holy Synod to correct the corrupt practices that have been widespread in the diocese.

Of the 22 churches in the UK and Ireland, 18 are in a state of disrepair due to the absence of a local Bishop to lead them.

“The Archbishop of the Diocese, His Beatitude Abune Yacob, was accused of failing to fulfill his duties,” and the issue was raised at the meeting of the Holy Synod last October. The Holy Synod ordered His Beatitude to remain in his diocese and submit a report to the May meeting.

In a statement issued today, various stakeholders in the UK said that His Beatitude is disregarding the directives of the Holy Synod and is acting outside the law. They called for an immediate resolution to the problem by the Holy Synod.

Attempts to contact the diocese regarding statements made on the matter were unsuccessful, and the diocese’s office did not respond to our e-mail requests.
