π A WORLD IN TURMOIL β ARE WE LISTENING?
Across the world, we are witnessing devastation on an enormous scale: wars, earthquakes, floods, fires and the tragic loss of countless lives.
Behind every headline is a person. A mother. A father. A son. A daughter. A friend. A family whose lives have been changed forever.
We should never become numb to the suffering around us. Every life lost is precious, and our hearts should grieve for those who are hurting.
However these events should make us stop and ask ourselves the question:
Are these events simply the circumstances of a broken world, or are they signs that we should be paying attention to what God is saying?
Jesus Himself warned that as the end of this world approaches there would be increasing turmoil, saying:
βNation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.β
Matthew 24:7
The Bible tells us that history is moving towards a moment when Jesus Christ will return. We don't know the day or the hour, but we do know His promise is sure. And perhaps the greatest urgency isn't simply asking βWhat is happening to the world?β
It is asking:
βAm I ready to meet Jesus?β
Life is uncertain. We don't know what tomorrow holds. We don't know what devastation may come, what circumstances may change, or how long we have on this earth.
But there is one thing we can know with certainty β where we stand with God.
The greatest preparation we can make isn't preparing for what might happen in this life β it is preparing for the life that comes after it.
Turn to Christ. Put your faith in Him. Repent of your sins. Receive His forgiveness. Make sure today you know Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, because whatever happens in this world, eternity is real.
And the question isn't whether we will face eternity.
The question is: where will we spend it?
Are you ready?
