Dear Students
The latest material in the Online Patristics Course is now available. It is Module 36. The Sixth Century - Introducing the Sixth.
Before exploring the writings of the sixth-century Fathers, it is important to understand the world in which they lived. The sixth century was one of the most significant periods in the history of the Church, shaped by the reign of Justinian, the continuing consequences of the Council of Chalcedon, the growth of monasticism, and profound theological and political change. This new module provides some of the historical and theological context needed to appreciate the lives, witness, and writings of the Fathers of this pivotal century together with a video presentation exploring the significant events and people of the century.
Find some time to reconnect with the Online Patristics Course and log on at the course platform: https://patristics-with-father-peter-farrington.teachable.com/. You are studying at your own pace, and can dip into whichever topics most interest you. Even an hour a week of study will bear fruit in a greater knowledge of and appreciation of the Patristic foundation of the Church.
