Liverpool Catholic Children's Choirs performed in their first public outing on Sunday 28 June, when they led the 10am mass in the Cathedral Crypt Chapel. The two choirs were founded in March and rehearse separately in Woolton and in the City Centre.

Secondary Schools Choir Competition 2026 🎶

On 21st May, the stunning Crypt Hall at Liverpool’s Metropolitan Cathedral was filled with incredible music as talented secondary school choirs came together to perform in this year’s Secondary Schools Choir Competition. 🌟

A huge congratulations to all the schools who took part, and a special well done to our winners:
🥇 1st Place: Broughton Hall
🥈 2nd Place: St Julie’s Catholic High School
🥉 3rd Place: St Edward’s College

Thank you to every student, teacher and supporter for making the evening such a memorable celebration of musical talent, teamwork and dedication. We can’t wait to see you all again at future events 🎤✨

Experience an afternoon of outstanding choral music as Liverpool Cathedral Choir joins Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral Choir for a special concert marking American Independence Day weekend.

The programme features Herbert Howells' Take him, earth, for cherishing, written for the memorial service of President John F. Kennedy in 1964, alongside music by Morten Lauridsen and Eric Whitacre.
