Thank you for blessing us with a message from 1 Corinthians 11:17–34.

We were also so encouraged hearing from our member Nat as he shared an update from his course. It’s been amazing to hear how much he has been blessed through his studies—especially as he prepares to enter a new season of life this month by getting married 💒

We also were hosted by to kick off Spring Intensive Week.

God is doing so much—not only in the life of Hope Church, but among brothers and sisters walking alongside us in mission across the world. It’s a joy to pray for one another wherever He has placed us.

The Bride of Christ is alive because Jesus is alive 🙌

Yesterday we came together as a church family. George took us through a message from 1 Corinthians 11:2-16.

It was as challenging as it was important. It spoke about the unique ways we are designed as men and women, how Jesus calls us see and love one another because of this, and how this looks throughout the church.

Some of our members prayed for us and as we worshiped and prayed together, you could see that picture come to life. Each of our unique gifts coming together to display the image of Christ.

It is good news God made us different. And what was most amazing to hear was that neither men nor women are perfect, every one of us are sinful. But one man is perfect. Jesus.

After the sermon our wordsmith Josh read this poem that encapsulates that very message. Jesus is good news for us all.

⭐️ Fourteen weeks ago, we asked if you would come alongside us as we stepped out in faith to purchase the building that’s become the heart of our mission in Kensington.

🙏 After weeks, months, even years of prayer, conversations, and believing God would be faithful no matter the outcome, we’re so grateful to share an update with you…

The Bible calls us to boast in the Lord, so want to share some thanksgivings of what we’ve seen God do recently:

👏🏽Getting to buy gospel material in different languages - to give out to people interested

👏🏽Getting to have so many gospel conversations through our Community Fridge and by living in Kenny, with people then coming to church Sunday

👏🏽Seeing so many children hearing the gospel each week in an accessible way

👏🏽Generosity happening throughout the church, meals cooked, time taken, childcare shared, people listened to, people pledging for the building!

👏🏽People sharing how they’ve encountered God through His Word, through praying, through community, with lives changing

The “ordinary” nature of the Christian life has resulted in extraordinary things - keep praying for us, and thanking God for all He’s doing!

God has given us an amazing opportunity to buy the church building we use for gospel outreach, food support, pastoral care, children’s work and much more but we need YOU to help us as time is short - watch this to see why this building is such a valuable tool for us, share this wide, follow the link to pledge towards the £250K needed and let’s see what God can do

So good getting to invite Jax into church membership this morning as she publicly affirmed her faith in Jesus and commitment to the local church. This is such an answer to prayer and clear sign of God’s goodness, it’s been an absolute privilege getting to be a part of her journey in Christ and we can’t wait to continually cheer her on here in Kenny 🙌🏽

We’re buzzing to have our Harrisburg Baptist Church team arriving on our doorstep Monday morning for mission. Last year they smashed getting the gospel onto our streets, stepping into DIY projects, building relationships and so much more - we’re thankful and excited to see that happen again this week 🙌🏽

Our very own Joe Penney crafted a great blog post recently around the history of a Christian meeting place in our area and how that corresponds to building up one another as the church, give it a read!

This church, St John the Divine, which is situated just a half mile from my house, was originally built between 1851-1853. There is not much to be found online about the history of this church, except that it is now closed. The building served the community around Kensington and Fairfield for close....
