Saint Anne's Church has served the people of Old Swan for 180 years. Each day we offer worship to God in our beautiful church and we seek to care for all who live in our Parish. We want to be a community where all are welcome and accepted, especially as we gather around the altar of God every Sunday to offer the Eucharist. One of our most important links with the community is with our Church Schoo

l who also serve the people of Stanley and Old Swan. Our parish is also linked to the neighbouring parish of Saint Paul, Stoneycroft and both of our parishes are now served by the same clergy. Saint Anne's is proud of its history, its traditions, its music, and those who belong to it today are pleased to share something of its life with you through this website. Dear all,
I'm so sorry to tell you that our dear friend, lay-reader and ordinand, Victoria has passed away. Her son Andrew and parents were with her.
Her health deteriorated rapidly toward the end of August and therefore this news will come as a complete shock to many of you.
We are all deeply saddened at this tragic news.
Please keep Andrew, Nanette and Terry in your prayers.

Fantastic celebration for our patronal festival today. Massive thanks to everyone who made it so special. Bishop Simon's sermon was wonderful and we're so grateful to everyone who came to sing and swell the choir.
Wonderful reception afterwards too and thank you to everyone who helped with this.
As Bishop Simon said in his sermon, the overriding word of the day was JOY ๐Ÿ˜Š

Just in time for Sea Sunday, we have our very own resident baby sea gull called Stephen. We've been leaving him food and water and he seems quite happy pottering around the churchyard ๐Ÿ˜

On Sunday we will be celebrating Sea Sunday, when churches remember and pray for seafarers and their families and give thanks for their lives and work. Our church was built by the Harrison family who were Liverpool shipping merchants.
The church will have decorations made by the children - if youโ€™ve made some during the week, do pass them in when you arrive to get them put up and the music will have a nautical theme.
So splice your mainbrace and shiver your timbers and join us for a nautical extravaganza!

It's not Holy Orders, it's unholy odours with the offensive smells coming from the old abattoir site. They have been particularly bad over the last few weeks. We're asking people to report it to the council via the link below. They're more likely to action something if more people complain about it.
Please take a couple of minutes to complete this. The post code for the meat market site is L13 3AS
Thank you :-)
