Mossley Hill Church and Vicarage are making significant changes to achieve decarbonisation. ♻️
Their vicarage is set to become the first fully decarbonised clergy home in the Diocese of Liverpool, marking a major step towards net zero carbon. What began as an ambitious goal is now becoming reality, thanks to a national Net Zero demonstrator grant supporting churches to become more energy efficient and sustainable. 🙏
Since work began in May 2025, the transformation has been significant - with solar panels, an air source heat pump, and other upgrades already in place. When complete, the vicarage will run with zero operational carbon emissions, cutting energy use dramatically and reducing bills by around 80%. 💚
But this is about more than one building. Alongside the vicarage, Mossley Hill Church is beginning to plan its own journey to net zero, with the hope of creating a fully sustainable church for generations to come. ⛪
