Messy Church at St Michael's on Tuesday looks at 'The Shape of Love!'

The children will be hearing about events of Holy Week and how these are of most importance, shaping the love Jesus has for us all. They will be making a Holy Week wall hanging, a Holy Week Tableau and making faces to reflect the feelings from each scene. Children will also be using pipe cleaners to demonstrate the shape of love during the second half! See you there!

🤩Messy Church returns this Tuesday!🤩

The children will be learning about integrity and what this means, then acting out the powerful story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who refused to worship King Nebuchadnezzar's golden statue.

They will be building tall towers on jelly foundations, making mini sticks of rock, roasting food outside in the chiminea, making acetate images and scenes from the story with jelly!

We will finish with a song and of course, share tea together.

We're open from 3.30pm and free of charge to all primary school aged children accompanied by a parent/carer. We start our theme at 3.50pm and share tea together as families around 5pm.

See you there!

👇Messy Church Change of Date! 👇

At last Alan is scheduled to have his knee replacement on the originally planned date of 16th February, so Messy Church has been moved to Tuesday, 24th February. The children will still be exploring the theme of Lent — and, of course, there will still be pancakes!

For February's Messy Church children will be learning all about Lent and the preparation for Shrove Tuesday. They will be looking at how they can be tempted during Lent, how Jesus was tempted in the wilderness and how this then leads into Easter.

The children will be baking mini salt-dough loaves, building and testing mini parachutes and then making a mini-world to represent the three temptations of Jesus. They will also be doing a pancake race and finishing off with pancakes for tea!

We're open from 3.30pm and free of charge to all primary school aged children accompanied by a parent/carer. We start our theme at 3.50pm and share tea together as families around 5pm.

Messy Church returns on Tuesday with the theme for January being 'Perseverance!' 🙏😊

The children will be hearing from Luke's gospel, listening to the story of the persistent widow who never gave up.

We will be looking at countries where Christians really do have to persevere due to poverty and persecution. Plus, how perseverance can help the children in their own lives.

Children will be learning about skills that develop with perseverance such as knitting, playing an instrument and sports, in our skills corner. They'll be acting out the story with drama and making a prayer booklet.

We're open from 3.30pm and free of charge to all primary school aged children accompanied by a parent/carer. We start our theme at 3.50pm and share tea together as families around 5pm.

💒🎉🎉Summer Holiday Club Bookings are open!🎉🎉💒

✨️🎇Sparks and Stories around the Campfire - A Taste of Heaven!🎇✨️

Secure your child's free spot for St Michael's fun filled Summer Holiday Club in August! We have 60 places available for children aged 3-11 years and bookings are now open via our website www.barnston.info (Tuesday 26th to Friday 29th of August with Sunday Celebration on the 31st).

Older children who are used to coming each year may be able to be included as helpers so get in touch via [email protected] if they are interested.

This year's theme is centred around sparks and stories around the campfire. We get a hint as we see how Jesus met with His disciples – after He was raised from the dead. They spent time just being with each other, walking and chatting, having meals together; on one occasion Jesus met them on a beach where He had made a fire and cooked them a delicious fish meal. So, for our holiday club this year we are going to meet to share sparks and stories around a campfire. There will be the usual teams with songs and food, craft activities and games, meet old friends like Super Ref plus Bessie & Ted.

The Holiday Club times – arrive at 9.20 each morning for a 9.30 prompt start. We aim to finish at 12.30. It is open to all children 3-11 years and is free for all. The Sunday Celebration at 10.30 is a great time for the rest of the families to join us, see what the children have been learning, finishing off with a barbecue, all together.

A taste of heaven? See you there!

💒🎚🥰 Messy Church is Back Tomorrow! 🥰🎚💒

We are excited to welcome everyone back to Messy Church tomorrow. The theme will be Jesus calling His twelve disciples. Each disciple was unique in background, personality and occupation. They were all very different and yet, Jesus included them all!

We will be doing lots of fun crafts, games, activities and drama with a slightly earlier start of 3.50pm - so don't be late!

We're open from 3.30pm and free of charge to all primary school aged children (accompanied by a parent / carer). We start our theme at 3.50pm and share tea together around 5pm.

See you there!
