Liverpool Parish A page for all who find their spiritual home at Liverpool Parish Church, Our Lady & St Nicholas - or have some tenuous connection!

We are a Church of England parish in the Diocese of Liverpool. A church has stood on this site since the thirteenth century and the present church dates from just after the Second World War (although the tower originates from the early nineteenth century). Our parish covers most of the city centre and docks, including Lime Street, the Albert Dock and the “Liverpool One” development; in total over

16,000 people live within our boundaries. Our position on the Pierhead means that for generations the Church has been associated with seafarers. We have strong links with the Royal Navy and the Merchant Navy, and sailors have looked to us as their spiritual home. The Parish Church also serves the civic and business communities in the city, and today reaches out to the increasing residential population as well. We aim to be a place of sanctuary, prayer and worship for the whole of Liverpool.

This evening, the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, William Shortall, hosted the Annual Civic Service at Liverpool Parish Church. The theme was ‘accessibility for all’ and it was a treat to watch a performance by the Liverpool Signing Choir, and to hear from Mary Beaumont (Chief Executive Officer at The Greenbank Project) and Harri Jenkins (current GB Wheelchair Rugby Player and bronze medallist in the Tokyo Paralympics). Inspirational!

Thank you, Lord Mayor and Liverpool Parish Church - an excellent service with a real sense of community.

This evening we were honoured to welcome The Lord Mayor and other Civic dignitaries, as we celebrated the beginning of his year in office and the important message of Accesibility for All.

The fantastic Liverpool Signing Choir performed and we heard some moving testimonies from Greenbank Sports Academy and Paralympian Harri Jenkins

Many thanks to all involved for a wonderful celebration.
