Join the Music Department at Liverpool Cathedral🎶

We're looking for an exceptional Assistant Director of Music & Organist to join our world-renowned Music Department.

This is a unique opportunity to play a leading role in the musical life of one of the world's largest cathedrals, accompanying our renowned Cathedral Choir, supporting our Schools Singing Programme, mentoring our Organ Scholar and helping to shape a rich programme of worship, concerts and recitals.

The successful candidate will also become a champion of our magnificent Willis Organ, which celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2026, working alongside colleagues to inspire audiences and ensure this remarkable instrument continues to flourish for future generations.

If you're a gifted organist, passionate choral trainer and excited by the opportunity to contribute to the musical tradition of Liverpool Cathedral, we'd love to hear from you.

From Monday 20 July – Friday 24 July, Liverpool Cathedral have restricted access to the general public while we host LJMU Graduation ceremonies.

During this time:

🎓 The Cathedral is closed to visitors
☕ The Welsford Bistro remains open via the Welsford Porch
🕊️ The Lady Chapel remains open for services and visitors
🛍️ The Cathedral Shop will be open for graduation guests only
🚗 No public parking (Blue Badge parking for guests only)

Congratulations to everyone graduating, we hope you have a lovely time celebrating with friends and family. We'll look forward to welcoming everyone back after graduations.

Join us for our Consecration Service as we celebrate the anniversary of the Cathedral's consecration.

It will also be the Cathedral Choir's final service before the end of term, making it a wonderful opportunity to hear their beautiful music before the summer break.
