Gateacre Team Ministry The Gateacre Team Ministry are St Stephen Belle Vale Road, and St Mark Hartsbourne Avenue Churches, working together to share the love of Jesus

Gateacre Team Ministry is the name of a group of Church of England churches in South Liverpool that are made up of St Stephens Gateacre & St Marks Childwall Valley. Formerly Christ Church Netherley was part of this, until the building fell into disrepair and had to be closed. We have a vision to plant a worshipping community back into Netherley. In September 2025 we have a prayer walk planned to begin listening and praying into this.

Here is the May 2026 update from the shadow PCC for Christ Our Light.

The 9 places of worship and 6 existing parishes of Speke, Grassendale, Springwood, Halewood, Hunts Cross and Gateacre will legally become the larger single parish of Christ Our Light on 1st July. Our first Parish Meeting will be on 19th July 2026 at 6:30pm hosted by St Mary's Grassendale. We are really excited and looking forward to this celebration, giving thanks for all the hard work that has brought us this far and electing our new wardens and PCC. Please save the date and come and join us to share in this special occasion.
