At St John the Evangelist, Knotty Ash, Liverpool, a simple church room has been transformed into something life-changing for local families! 👨👩👧👦✨
Following support from a national church grant, the church has created a dedicated sensory-friendly space for children and adults who are neurodivergent, helping more people feel safe and included in church life. 💙
With calming lights, sensory resources, blackout blinds and headphones to reduce overwhelming noise, the room is already helping families worship together in ways that better meet their needs. Weekly sensory activities also bring Bible stories to life in creative and interactive ways. ✝️
This project shows that small and simple adaptations can make a huge difference in helping churches become more welcoming and inclusive for everyone! ⛪
