We are delighted to share that The Very Revd Simon Robinson has been named as the next Bishop of Warrington.

This morning, it was announced that His Majesty The King has approved Simon’s nomination, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his ministry and in the life of our Diocese.

Speaking about his appointment, Simon reflected:

“When I first read the paperwork for the new Bishop of Warrington’s role, a literal fire burst into flame in my stomach. That fire has not gone out and grows stronger every day as I pray and prepare to move and take up this new role.

I am excited and daunted by what God has drawn me to next. I really do look forward to listening to and learning from the very many people of Warrington and the Diocese of Liverpool as we live and tell the story of Jesus Christ together.”

As Simon begins this journey towards joining us, we hold him in our prayers, giving thanks for his calling, and praying that he will know God’s peace, strength and encouragement in the months ahead.

We look forward to welcoming him warmly to the Diocese of Liverpool, as together we continue the mission of sharing the hope of Jesus Christ in our communities.

Over the last year we’ve been raising money to fix the flat roofs on our church premises. We’re delighted to say that we were able to raise sufficient funds and the work has now been completed - meaning our weekly worship and events like Christingle and local school services can continue. Thank you so much to Garfield Weston Foundation, to Benefact Trust, to the Diocese of Liverpool and everyone in the community who supported us to complete this project.

Over the last year we’ve been raising money to fix the flat roofs on our community centre. We’re delighted to say that we were able to raise sufficient funds and the work has now been completed - meaning events like our quiz night and community Christmas dinner could go ahead. Thank you so much to The National Lottery Community Fund and to Liverpool City Council neighbourhood fund and everyone in the community who supported us to complete this project.

We’ve had some fab gatherings throughout Advent - it’s been great to see so many of you! We’ll gather again on Christmas Eve at 4pm and Christmas Day at 10:45am to celebrate the birth of Jesus - we’d love you to join us if you are around.

Thank you so much to everyone who supported The Big Quiz Night on Saturday to raise money for Tearfund. We enjoyed a lovely chippy tea, had a fantastic a battle of wits and raised an incredible £500 towards the vital work of Tearfund! 🙏 🙌 ❤️
