This is the night when our Lord is risen from death. This is the night of light, of hope, and of uncontainable joy.

We are the people of the Resurrection! Tonight we celebrate the triumph of life over death, the victory of love over sin, and the promise that God’s mercy is stronger than every darkness. The empty tomb is not a sign of absence, but a proclamation of new life — for the world, for our parish, and for each of us.

Let our hearts rejoice and our voices proclaim: Alleluia! Christ is risen! In Him, our fears are calmed, our wounds are healed, and our hope is renewed. May the light of this holy night shine in our families, strengthen our faith, and inspire us to live as witnesses of the Resurrection every day.

As people of the Resurrection, we are called to carry joy into our community, to share kindness with those in need, and to reflect the love of the Risen Lord in all we do. May this Easter fill you with peace, courage, and abundant grace.

Rejoice, for the Lord lives! Alleluia, Alleluia

Tomorrow, Sunday 29th March, we celebrate Palm Sunday in the Catholic Church. 🌿

On this day, we remember Jesus’ joyful entry into Jerusalem, riding on a humble donkey while crowds welcomed Him by spreading cloaks on the road and waving palm branches, shouting “Hosanna!” It was a scene filled with hope, praise, and anticipation.

Palm Sunday also marks the beginning of Holy Week — the most important week in our Church, as we journey with Christ through His Passion, Death, and Resurrection. ✝️

Please join us for Mass at 10:00 am as we begin this sacred time together. 🙏

Holy Week is fast approaching. It is the most important week in the Catholic calendar, remembering the final days of Jesus’ life, his death, and his resurrection. Each day has a special meaning, and churches often hold special services. Please see below for short guidance on what happens during these special days.

🌿 Palm Sunday (Sunday before Easter)

What it means:
Jesus enters Jerusalem and people welcome him like a king, waving palm branches.

What happens in church:
• People receive palm leaves 🌿
• There’s a procession (people walk together into church)
• The long story of Jesus’ suffering is read

🍞 Holy Thursday (also called Maundy Thursday)

What it means:
Jesus shares the Last Supper with his disciples and washes their feet.

What happens in church:
• Priest may wash people’s feet (to show humility) 👣
• Special Mass remembering the Last Supper
• After Mass, the altar is stripped bare (church becomes quiet and solemn)

✝️ Good Friday

What it means:
Jesus is crucified and dies on the cross.

What happens in church:
• Very quiet, serious service
• No Mass
• People venerate the cross (walk up and bow or kiss it)
• The story of the crucifixion is read
• Catholics fast or eat simply

🕯️ Holy Saturday

What it means:
A day of waiting. Jesus is in the tomb.

What happens in church:
• Mostly quiet during the day
• At night: Easter Vigil (very important service)
• Starts in darkness, then candles are lit 🕯️
• New members may be baptized
• Big feeling of anticipation

🌅 Easter Sunday

What it means:
Jesus rises from the dead — the most joyful day in Christianity.

What happens in church:
• Celebration and joyful music 🎶
• Church decorated with flowers 🌸
• Bells ring again
• People often dress nicely
• More upbeat and festive atmosphere

Please come and joy us so we experience this special week together.

Lent is a quiet invitation to return to Christ with our whole hearts. It is a season of coming back — not with pride, not with excuses, but with humility. We step away from noise, from distractions, from ourselves, and we kneel before Him who waits for us.

In front of the Blessed Sacrament, we learn what it means to give up ourselves. We lay down our burdens, our plans, our wounds, and even our desires. In the silence of adoration, words are no longer necessary. His presence becomes enough. He looks at us with mercy, and our restless hearts slowly find peace.

During this sacred time, we feed our souls with His Holy Body in the Eucharist. What the world cannot give, He gives freely — strength for the weary, hope for the broken, light for the lost. Each Communion is not just a ritual, but an embrace. He becomes our nourishment so that we may become more like Him.

Lent also calls us to silent prayer for those who need it most — for the suffering, the forgotten, the hardened, the searching. In hidden intercession, love grows. In quiet sacrifice, grace flows where we may never see it.

And ultimately, Lent teaches us surrender. When we give our lives to Him completely, we discover that we were never meant to carry them alone. If we let go, He carries us. If we trust, He leads us. If we die to ourselves, we rise in Him.

This is the journey of Lent: to return, to adore, to receive, to pray, and to surrender — so that Christ may live fully in us.

Come and join us in prayer. You are always welcomed in our parish . ✝️

At Christmas, we will gather as a faith community to celebrate the greatest gift ever given — the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. This holy season invites us to step away from the busyness of life and come together in prayer, gratitude, and joy.

Attending Mass at Christmas is a beautiful way to welcome Christ anew into our hearts and homes. As we reflect on the humility of the Nativity and the love poured out for the world through the birth of Jesus, we are reminded that we are never alone — God is with us.

We warmly invite everyone — families, friends, visitors, and those returning after some time away — to join us in celebrating this sacred moment. Together, through prayer, music, and the Eucharist, we rejoice in the light that shines in the darkness and brings hope to all.

May your Christmas be filled with peace, joy, and the deep comfort of Christ’s presence. We look forward to welcoming you as we celebrate His birth together.

What a wonderful day our Catholic community experienced during the St. Albert the Great celebration Mass today in our parish church.

This special Mass was led by our Archbishop John Sherrington, who also blessed our parishioners and our wider community. We were honoured to be joined by our former Archbishop, Malcolm McMahon, as well as many priests and deacons.

We would like to thank everyone who attended, especially our distinguished guests and representatives from both of our Catholic schools. Above all, we thank our wonderful, kind-hearted, and generous parishioners and community, who participated so warmly in the Mass and prepared the beautiful feast in the parish hall afterwards.

It was a day full of kindness, joy, and smiles, and we are truly grateful for each and every one of you.

St. Albert the Great, pray for us!
